    Question Pain in my stomach

I don't know if this happens to you...

Everytime I run, I get this pain right in the middle of my midsection. Just between my ribcage where it forms a "V" upside down.

It feels like pressure, or like gas (like I need to burp).

I thought I read somewhere in the forum that someone took TUMS or something when they ran...

Did anyone hear of this problem before??

Actually the pain is most likely gas... it's recommeded that you straighten out your rib cage and chest more as you run to allow the gas to escape. BTW although it will most likely start in you intestines, the bubble will actually travel up through the stomach and can even be felt in the chest and shoulders. If you get a side stitch, lift your arms over your head and stretch as much as possible to try and release the buddle.

My coworker and I were talking the other day about my side cramps... and she said that her abs use to cramp up... exactly where you are describing.

What was her fix? Well, she said it just went away.

I would suggest deep belly breathing when you run, making sure your breathing doesn't get too labored... and maybe rubbing on the cramp when it pops up.

I thought this link that Eden posted in another thread was really useful:

Perhaps one of these things is what you are experiencing?

I hope you get through it soon,
