    first pool workout

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Did my first pool workout today in preparation for the spring race season. I have not worked out in the pool in years.....

I felt pretty good, and did about 1500 yards, some 100's and 200's...

    And I did not sink!

I just wish we had better pool availability...tough around here. there are two in the area. One at a swanky club that I do not want to join. They charge 16 bucks to come in for the day.

The other is cheaper, but all the swim teams work out there, so it will be hard to get in.

    Stinky.

1500 yards for your first swim workout... very impressive!

    Keep up the great work!

Hey- what a great swim for your first time back in the pool! I agree with KSH- very impressive!
Congrats on not sinking- or drowning. Sometimes we measure success so easily, huh?

Keep us updated on your progress- and I hear ya about sharing time with the swim team kids. My gym only has about 4 of the 12 lanes open for gym members during peak times. I try to go at 5:30 am, but I rarely want to go get wet in the winter when it's that dark and cold. brrr...
hopefull you'll find lots of free time to get some laps in!

Great job on the swim! you will be zipping along in no time at that rate

Now that my coach quit I have to swim at the Y and the swim team doesn't BUT they sometimes let kids in to open swim if it isn't busy, today 2 little unsupervised blankety blanks kept throwing bricks, rings, balls into the lane I was in then commence to play there (the lane was marked off with a lane rope BTW) I warned them a couple of times then just commenced to swim over them, 2 times of doing this they stayed in their own area - imagine that Lifeguard do something you ask? yeah right no smilie for sarcastic.

It's about the journey and being in the moment, not about the destination
