New twist to dog saga

The owners have been found!! And yes, she has 8 two week old puppies at home. Needless to say the owners were out looking for her late into the night. Thanks to our local pet finding service they saw a flyer.
So her name is Tosca and she is back at home. The little girl that answered the door was so excited to see her.
I'm so happy to see that she had a loving family. I do wonder about why she is so thin, but I'm guessing maybe the pregnancy? She ate like a pig for me- and pooped ALOT!!

Would this be a good time to remind everyone that spaying and neutering is good , but getting everyone microchipped is really good?

All three of my kitties are microchipped. All three were rescues, all three are indoor only cats, and I have no intention of them ever being strays again.

I love my moggies.

Not to thread-jack, but how does the chipping work on animals? Is it painful? I have two indoor cats, but they hover around the door, so I've thought about getting them chipped. (Especially, Annabel, she growls at us when we put her collar on.)

It's not much worse than getting a vaccination. They put the chip in with a big needle - it looks scarier than it is. The cats don't even notice it after the initial poke. Both my kitties are chipped - they are indoor only and don't wear collars. One thing though - have your vet scan it to check that its working every once in a while. I've heard they can break. - another thing about the chips, not all vets/stores/shelters use the same chip system so it is possible to not detect a chip even if there is one. If you find a stray and it appears to not be chipped make sure its scanned for all the possible brands before you give up.

I'm so glad Tosca found her people! I was worried about her puppies. Chloe was pretty skinny when she was nursing too, so maybe it's a new puppy mom thing.

My cat is chipped and neutered. My dog is chipped and a stud dog, so he's "intact" as they say, but we keep him on a short leash.

Chipping is simple - almost like an injection under the loose skim at the base of the nexk, Meaux. I don't think it hurts much if at all.

Two 8 week old puppies you say. If you weren't training for IM, I'd say that maybe you should find out if those puppies have homes yet. Maybe you should just visit Tosca once in a while and see how it's going?
