Emily - yup, we got invited back to New Smyrna by a couple of friends so we’re spending the month of July at the beach.
I rode to the beach and managed to catch a sunrise, it’s so quiet and peaceful at that time of day.

Got the bikes ready last weekend, all set to go riding... and it's 27 degrees and snowing. Went swimming instead.
Same here NY, I got out my clothes bins last weekend and started the swap for winter to summer clothes... pulled them back out yesterday.
Thanks, Emily. We got home and moved into our new apartment two days before Christmas... it was -10 the other night, quite a shock to the system!!
Shootingstar - it's a very quiet Facebook group,...
All is well with me and mine, just sold the FL condo and have been dealing with the frigid return to IL. :D
I've seen several recent requests to join the FB group, all have been approved, please...
I hear you SC, but it's hard knowing that is our entire nest egg sitting down there. It's just a piece of property, but if we lose it in a "not covered by insurance" way, we have nothing left... but...
They're offering sandbags in our area, and schools have canceled all extracurricular activities, everyone is just starting to prep and getting things lined up "in case". Wish we were down there...
Hope you stay safe, and get some rain asap!
No, it really doesn't.
Good plan! We called a friend in Ft. Myers and offered our condo to her, thankfully she already had plans to fly home to IL to see her kids.
My honey is retiring in 18 days and we are packing up to head back to our condo... in Florida. *sigh*
Here's hoping everyone in it's path is safe and this thing fizzles out soon.
Our latest truck, a Nissan Frontier 4x4, isn't top of the line and is considered very old tech. And it still cost almost $30,000, which I think is insane, but that's is still a VERY far cry from 50k.
That is awesome! :D
Emily, yes, I've been a member there for years, thanks! Some very knowledgeable women on that board.
Things have gotten so much worse in recent months, they now have "permission" to be endlessly nasty. So, I walked away, I'll still get information but won't participate. Unfortunately that's how...
Can someone explain to me the endless need men on forums have of repeating the BS that men are so put upon? "well, you better start with flowers because no matter what, you're wrong", "you'll just...
Swim goggles would get pretty uncomfortable after a bit, I paddle with my prescription sunglasses and croakies, work just fine even when I've had an oops.
Everything is attached when I paddle,...
So sorry to hear that NY! I hate how we can be so easily discarded.
Women make excellent firefighters, if I do say so myself. :D
We did some classes for kids when I was on the job, but mostly to the Explorer Post due to liability. Hardest part with kids is their...
Day five of antibiotics and it's starting to look better.
Rebecca, a light wheelchair would have made the trip far better! Fortunately, ever since my poor knee replacement outcome, I carry a...
Well, that didn't go as planned. Got to Chicago on Thursday and my right big toe was neon red and screamingly painful; ended up in urgent care on Friday morning, another MRSA infection from a tiny...
Catrin, yup, we're moving back, my wife wants to retire and we can't afford two places, so it's back to the condo down there. Come down and we'll go kayaking (I'll pass on hiking, to many snakes and...
I'm weaning off coffee right now in preparation for our return to FL, good thing I'm not riding these days, I'd crash and then just lay there in a daze... pretty much like now, just staring into...
Still no riding, but regular swimming, makes me feel so good! We're leaving for the conference in Chicago on Thursday and then a week and a half later to our place in Florida for a couple of weeks. ...
