I'd like a skirt that I can put on when we stop at a gas station and such on our bike tour. I thought I'd heard of a wrap around skirt just for this, but not finding it so easily. Any suggestions? It'd be nice if I had more options than just black, too.
I thought I had seen awhile ago that Terry sells a skirt like that. Otherwise I'd try Athleta or REI.

Terry has several cute ones, although they don't fit me quite right (the waist is too big). I bought their pull over one, to wear last year when we did a ride in mystic, CT and then went out to dinner afterwards. Pulled it on in the car, after stripping my shorts under a towel (after my trailer park shower!), which totally horrified my friend. She went to Starbucks to change.
I've worn the pull over one both as a stand alone skirt and over shorts. I like it.

What about a sarong? Lots of color choices with those, and you just wrap/tie to fit

I've never seen anyone wearing the Sweetspot skirts. I have seen them advertised a lot. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing anyone, ever, riding in a skort or wearing a wrapper, besides me!
I'm dubious of the sizing on sweetspot skirts. One size fits 2-14.

Zoic has some cute skirts. I just got one for like $29.00 on here not too long ago. They come with an attachable (via pieces of fabric) liner short. I wore one on a 30 mile ride once and it was great. They are a lot like the sweet spot skirts.
Yeah, Skirt/skort wearers are definitely in the minority here, but on big organized rides you can see quite a few. I mainly wear one to cover up my joey pouch... ;)Quote:

I have enough trouble with people giving me cr*p for bringing a change of clothes if we are going out after a ride. If I wore a sarong with my group (think MIT nerds) I'd never hear the end of it. On Saturday we are going to a ride and party for AMC leaders after the ride. You can be sure DH and I will be the only ones who change. These people must have superior bodies, because mine does not tolerate sitting in sweaty shorts.
I have a sweet spot skirt. I bought it at a Tri or a race a couple of years ago. Actually, I have two. One is the snap one and kind of a canvas material and the other one is a tech material and kind of 'fluttery' in styling. Both are great, but I prefer the fluttery one.
They do fit a wide range of sizes.

The Sweet Spot skirt seems a bit bold for me.... But the Shebeest one has me curious. Does anyone have experience with it? IE do they run big or small, and have you actually tried to ride in one (as the ad states you can)?
I do wear a skort. I've bought 2 others which I haven't gotten around to wearing..but hope to. I actually wear a running skort while cycling. I don't wear padded shorts because usually I'm not cycling huge distances....meaning under 50 km. in a day.
I don't have a wrap skort. Mine is fluttery, flared with split on the side. And shorts that are shorter than the skirt hemline. I don't like the skorts where shorts extend below the hemline. I enjoy wearing skort when I'm in the mood. It does feel abit dressier to..me. I would recommend it when cycling in big European cities..for sure.

I prefer my skort colour to be 1 solid colour. Just mixing and matching is easier for me.
I have a wrap around bicycle skirt pattern on my sewing table! I haven't cut it yet because I am not sure of the length or if I want it to be a circle or A line style.
I bought the fabric at S.R. Harris (designer fabric outlet) in Brooklyn Park, MN. Most of the time you don't know if the composition of the fabric marked on the end of the bolt is correct. The fabric I bought, which was marked as performance wear, looks like it will work for the skirt. I don't know about shorts.
If I ever get it done, I will post it. I need it by mid-July so I have a little time. :D
