Eat, shower, nap.
I really have to pump myself up to ride single-track. So I make sure I have at least 15 minutes to listen to Skillet, Disturbed, Metallica, etc. And then I always have to use the restroom or tree one last time. Then I practice some bunny-hops and climbing stairs (if there's any available) to get loosened up before I hit the trail.
Post-ride: Lately I've been riding by myself, so I like to head home and soak in the tub then have my chocolate banana smoothie :)
HOWEVER, if DH and I get some time, we like to head out for dinner all sweaty and dirty too. And we always make sure to order dessert.
Pre ride rituals..think about how i'm going to ride the certain section i'm headed to.
Post ride-feel the ahhhh & have a coffee at a cool local cafe..
My husband is meticulous about checking his tire and shocks before riding. I just stand around, shake my legs to loosen up.
Afterward I can't get clean enough, so it is usually a baby wipe bath then I have to get some sugar! Usually I prefer a Coke or a nice cold dark beer.
Pre-ride, not much.....ride around the parking lot if there is one...have all of my male riding buddies and the hubs practice this mantra" don't kill the girl, don't kill the girl"
Post ride, the hubs and I always stop for a snack, usually egg and cheese on a hardroll.
i get home, pour a tall glass of water and drop in a NUUN tablet.
Mmmm, chocolate banana smoothie, that sounds awesome!
Bow three times to the north, walk into brewery, stagger home.
the pre/post-ride rituals sound as much fun as the mountain biking :p
Beer. Scientifically proven to be a wunnerful recovery beverage :D
I have tried this recovery beverage after getting overheated on a ride, and I do like a good ale. Sadly my stomach was not appreciative of this....and I haven't tried it since then. Chocolate milk, however, proved to be just the ticket :)
If I wait a couple of hours then the post-post recovery ale goes down very well :D
I think Homer Simpson put it best "Here's to beer, the cause of and solution to all of life's problems". I couldn't agree more ;)
Another vote for beer, preferrably one with a bicycle on the label!
