Sigh, I am still not in bed. I meant to go, then felt guilty about taking a day off from running, so I went out for an esay run. I do need to get more lights, so I can be seen. :)

J. is getting a master's degree in Information Systems. No, I have no idea what that's about. He works in Information Technology. In the 70s-early 80s, he did sound engineering for big rock bands, then moved into electronics--->computers (degree in computer science)--->information technology. Me, I'm just a midwife. What I know is that he can reconfigure electrical outlets without killing himself, and that impresses me very much. :rolleyes:

Ah, hello again. Nice to see y'all so cheerful and full of life. My friend is doing better thanks. Better surgery through supreme radiography, I'll wager. ;) I hung out with her a bit this am when I was working. She shared her b-fast. It was good but my IBS didn't like it much. Ok, thumb got burned doing two things at once. It hurts like h*ll to type much so it's taking me a while. Sorry. It's hard to focus. My eyes keep watering up. (Y'all have no idea how much typing I've had to do lately. I kinda wish it would just fall off at this point.) I kind of injured my knees too but they only hurt when I bend them. I look absolutely ridiculous trying to get off the couch. I may just sleep right here.

CyclChyk - You actually hate getting massages? You've been getting the wrong kind, dear. They shouldn't hurt unless you're that tense that they have to break up the stress points first. They should relax and soothe, get your blood moving and endorphins flowing, which leads to a bit of euphoria and may even turn you on a little bit. (I'm not talking erotic kinds here, just really good ones.) You should be able to feel as though you could just about fall asleep but instead exist in a kind of 'waking dream'. Then you know you've been massaged. Therapeutic in the extreme.

Nanci - I just love your stories about the kids. I hope Addy comes around soon. What are the alternatives? The pic is so cool. I saved it to my screen saver. It's now in there with my kayaking, biking and sailing pics. (of course Homer Simpsons' famous brain x-ray too) You so amaze me with your long rides. Now you're doing yardwork too? Gosh. I don't know what to say.

Salsa - So happy to hear Beeper is doing better. It's tough but I'm so glad your the kind of parents that would do that for her. Class act.

Trek - Oh, I'm sorry everything kind of hit you on the ride today. I wish it would have been better. But I'm sure Knot was a great comfort to have by your side. Even through all that you managed to get pics? (((Trek))) You're just adorable sometimes, you know?

OTG - Hey now. :D Still got meatloaf left? Hmmmm. Does it have veggies in it? I like veggies in it. Drizzled in homemade mushroom gravy made with sh*take and crimini mushrooms. Yum. You know cold meatloaf sandwiches are good too. I'll make more bread. (just love my breadmaker)

Lefty/righty? I'm kinda 1/2 and 1/2 I shoot b-ball both ways, can only throw a soft ball righty, can bat both ways tho (**shakes head** don't you DARE, Kit!) but can put it over the fence righty only. Golf - righty. Water skiing - lefty. (I have to have both feet on one ski :() Can't drive straight with my right hand. Too many years driving stick I guess. Soccer - Hmmm can't play that with either hand, that's strange. :rolleyes: Yeah, I'm pretty much screwed up. I've got shorts and cross wiring galore.
BTW - Good luck tomorrow sweatheart. You certainly deserve a break. I know you'll knock their socks off. Send me a #,(both of you, if you need it) it's free from this end. I'll call tomorrow night to see how it all went. Too much for today though.

The 200k was in Cape Coral/Lee County, so very far south on the west coast. Maybe like sort of the last point of civilization before the Everglades-y southern tip. I didn't know there were panthers on the west coast either, but there were signs like that very often- like you could always see the next one- for about a mile stretch. It was by the airport- very woodsy and wild, and they had built one of those wildlife corridors under the road, plus the speed limit was only 45mph, 40 at night. When's the last time you saw a night speed limit? They must really, really want to protect any panthers that are traveling through.

Is there anyone besides this former graphic designer who thinks the better solution for that sign would be a "?" instead of an "!"?

And the ride wasn't all angst. Like the brand new rider with his egg beater candy pedals "how do I get into these things, how do I....?" there was this urgency to him. and every few seconds he'd take off and ride in the lot in circles smashing his feet down on the pedals. smash smash smash.

Trek "well, takes practice. Ride, practice, repeat. And after all it's not how fast you get into the pedals it's how fast you can get out :) :D " Little knowing nods and agreement of riders around us.

Newbie "how do I get into these things, how do I....?" takes off rides smash smash smash.

More snow this morning. The ride is was pretty icey which I don't like. I brought my running gear for lunch so hopefully I can get motivated. BMO3, how do you stay so motivated? And when do you turn 40? I turn in August of 07 and I want to accomplish something before then. I really feel like I need some adventure in my life. Guess I need to sit down and figure out what that is and then do it? I think I'm in a rut....
