Thanks! Gotta love Kermit.

I'm more of an apple pie girl, myself.
With Breyer's vanilla on top.
Isn't there a century near you called the Ride for Pie? You could ride for cherrie pie. :D It's great, but not with the canned stuff, real cherries.
Queen, can you speak Italian? where in Italy were you?
Raleighdon makes the best EVER cherry pie. he gets pie cherries from a local farm... sometimes he mixes them with blue berries or small chunks of peaches. OH MY GOODNESS, did you know i didnt even LIKE pie until I ran into Raleighdon!??!?
and i won't eat it unless it's his.. (or my son's... just to be nice you understand):D
We have pie cherries on the tree again this year. Now we just have get the timing right and pick 'em before the birds nab 'em. Mmmmm, cherry pie! The recipe I use has a gingersnap crust and nestles the cherries in a sour cream custard. I never mastered the two-crust kind with a cherry filling. Always turns out runny for me. Any tips?
Ah yes! The Janesville Morning Rotary Pie Ride :D I did that once, and I did get a cherry pie for finishing within the time limit. It's a very pretty ride route too. It ends at a swimming beach on a little lake, but I didn't know that and hadn't brought a swim suit. Was a nice day for it, though. Mid-June as I recall. Too late for this year, but here's the link that was: http://www.janesvillemorningrotary.o..._pie_ride.html
Oh my! Too much talk of pies.;) I must now go to the Cheesecake factory for lunch.
Is it any good?
I was in Aviano (in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region by Pordenone, north of Venice) from 1969 to 1973. I used to speak Italian fluently but it has faded to where I can only understand a little.
I consider Italy to be where "I grew up" since I was there for the formative part of my youth (ages 9-13).
I've had really good luck in the sock department. Thom has special motorcycle socks that are labeled left and right. I only had to ask him once to make sure that they were not inside out before they went into the wash. Just makes mating them up a lot easier.

Yay! I just finished work for 10 whole weeks!
And by this time next week I'll be in Canada with my sweetie
Life is good :D:D:D
Being a good southern girl: Fried Pies. Cherry or Peach.
Banana Pudding. Prime cycling food + tasty stuff. Yummy!
cheesecake!!!!!
Don't try the Snickers Ice Cream Bars. They aren't any good (sarcasm).
Why does one eat fried pies? Are they greasy or????
I let Christian Pfeiffer ahead of me in the restroom line.
"I have a show in 5 minutes. I'm going to explode," he said. "I'm looking forward to your show, go ahead!" I said. :D
Fried pie? A relative of the deep fried mars bar perchance?
I bought a book of 101 cake and biscuit recipes on Thursday. DH thinks I should try to cook them all in a year. He´s volunteered to be chief quality tester, isn´t that nice of him?
Fried pie is what you make when the peaches on the tree are getting over-ripe and it's too hot to light the oven.
Make a little dough, sugar up the peaches, slap them in the dough, pinch it shut and fry it up. http://www.azstarnet.com/sn/byauthor/215602

And what does she say about some recipes that claim the little pies can be baked instead of fried?
"I think they'd taste like bones."
I think my cat is planning something....he is up to no good, I can feel it....
RnRG - back quietly out of the room, run, and don't look back.
Or let your cat out.
Karen, thank-you for the recipe. It's been years since I deep-fried anything, but fried pie sounds so yummy. Does anyone remember the fried pies Mickey D's used to have? I miss those. I bet these home-made ones will be even better.:D<sitting in a puddle of my own drool>
Knot, miss seeing you on the forum. I hope you are doing well. :)
If you want an excellent fried pie, go by a Popeye's Chicken. It's hot, fried, very tasty and has cinnamon sugar sprinkled all over it. Mmmmmmm.
