Hugs to you Queen... :(
Look what I found!
"Clocks" by Coldplay, performed by the 12 Girls Band!

sigh. Now I can go to sleep.
(PS, the video is NOT them playing. Just listen to the music.)
Queen :) (((((HUGS)))))) You may think you've not made a difference but YOU HAVE. No matter how insignificant you may feel right now, please let me tell you I admire the job you've done & obviously are a caring woman. We need more ladies like you in the world. Perhaps one day, one of those homeless folks may by some small chance get off the streets & if that small miracle happens, perhaps they may think of the lovely lady that truly gave a **** & tried to help change thier life.
(that doesn't mean we don't need more of x, kg, knot, bm, trek, kit & all the other lovelies that wander here)
Anywho..I did the Level 1 Tri technical officials course today :) Now I just have to remember the blocking & drafting rules.. I have to do a small exam & then a practical at a tri on April 1st. If I don't want to enter a tri, the least i could do is try & help in some other form.
Take care
C
Thanks so much to all of you for the kind words of support, it really helps. Today I'm feeling a bit hollow and I think I need to go out for a short hike to help clear my head. I'm leaving for FL to visit my folks next Tuesday and am so looking forward to just sitting on the sand and staring at the ocean for a long while.
X and Knott - Wild Geese was wonderful, thanks.
Remind me to check in the mess that is my car. We listened to it on the drive from Half Moon Bay but are you sure you took the CD out? I'm listening to Brad Paisley now
www.youtube.com/watch?v=OglKqv3tB7A
but it could be with the other CD's
((((((Queen))))))) I am a little late, but the sentiment is still there. The other posts did a fantastic job and I second and third them. You have made a difference and your next path will as well.
Enjoy the much needed and deserved break. :)
It is wonderful. :)
Queen--I'm a little late on the uptake, too, but wanted to remind you of that story about the kid on the beach tossing beached starfish back into the water. There are virtually hundreds of them, and a guy comes along and says to the kid, "There are too many of them. You'll never be able to make a difference." The kid answers, as he tosses one more into the water, "It makes a difference to this one."
You made a difference to all those you DID help. But you can't toss starfish into the surf all your life--time to move on. Good luck with your next adventure!
Queen,
It sounds like you made a really tough decision. I think you were really courageous to do it in the first place!
May I ask what your new career is going to be?
Enjoy your hike, I hope it helps.
wow, that's quite a shift, like 180 degrees!
and happy anniversary to me! My DH gave me an INCLINOMETER!!! (and I already put it on my bike). We've been married 29 years. I gave him a crank stand for his new bike - so he doesn't have to lean it up against furniture anymore.
Happy Anniversary
Mimitabby and Raleighdon!!! :D  :D
Happy Anniversary Mimi and Raleighdon!! Wishing you both many more to come. :)
Happy Anniversary! Wow, 29 years!
thanks everyone for the kind wishes. The wonderful part of this, is that we have a very full marriage, you know, we're not just occupying the same space or living together because it's cheaper or more convenient.
We're so lucky!
 :D
Congrats Mimi! You are lucky indeed. :)
Queen, remember we experience grief, even over decisions we make. You are right to make a change and go forward. The sadness over making the decision is all part of that grief cycle. Go luck on your new path. It is the right time. I am glad to hear you are taking some time off between the two paths:)
CrazyCanuck - that's a great idea! Have a super time being an "official" :p
Mimitabby- Congratulations! 29 years! You two rock! And what great gifts to commemorate the occasion!
Queen - find peace over these 3 weeks....let your grief come, examine it, accept it, and let it go on buttefly wings over that beautiful ocean.
DH is working today. If I'm a nice little wifey I'll get the house cleaned while he's gone. We've got 2 doggies in recovery today - 'Cuda's foot is now being treated as an "open" wound. Soak twice a day in epson salts, apply a salve twice a day, keep the collar on. Crazy how tight it has to be, but it is staying on there.
Diva had to have a tooth removed. :( Antibiotics twice a day and soft food for a few days.
I can keep this straight, really I can!
Tonight we'll watch Borat together. Ah, I'm looking forward to the comic relief!
Hugs and butterflies,
~T~
mimi congrats!
queen hugs
LTBC how's the pup doing?
Diva hasn't eaten yet. She's a fuss@$$ like her mom, but I think I'm going to have to tempt her with something special (and soft) pretty soon. 'Cuda is mostly pouting. But we spent a bit of time outdoors and even gently played with the soccer ball. He actually used the cone to pass the ball - which I've been trying to teach him anyway. It was nice, but we don't want to overdo it...poor open wounded foot! (I feel like we are terrible fur-parents :( )
Thanks for asking!

your not terrible fur parents! your doing a great job.
There is another use for the dreaded buddy collar....when pup gets sick, the collar catches it so it doesn't hit the carpet. :o Made cleanup so much easier....good for us, but poor 'Cuda.
DH came home to a clean house. I didn't do my course work. There's good and bad in everything, right? heehee
Hugs & Butterflies,

Every now and again, I just go searching on the web for funny stuff. Here's some signs that just crack me up.
Happy (late) 29th Anniversary, Mimi and Mr. Mi!
Are you already plotting anything special for your big 30th next year? Hmmm?
AAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhh!
I hate my job.
Thank you.
*cowers*

Geez, and here I thought I was needing a hug...
((((SNAP)))) :D :D :D
X- Here's a sign for ya (and the info behind it). I actually passed this park on the way out of WI but (D'oh!) didn't get a pic.
Aww, Snap!
*hugs*
nice kit.
only in wisconsin......
Silly cheeseheads! When will they ever learn?! ;) :D
never. maybe they should switch to a different cheese than swiss.
get it?
I'm going to assume there's a pic there or something that I'm not getting. The Man blocks a lot of my pics here...
IF NO PIC EXISTS- then I'll go to my other comeback-
Swiss cheeseheads? Better than head cheese!
Don't worry... I'll be gouda. I'd hate make anyone feel bleu. I have puns in Abondance. Gimme a shot and I'll Leyden down. Oka? :D ;)
X- any quick ones? Go ahead, Havarti. ;):D
Oh please don't hurt me for the cheesy lines! You've created a Muenster! Teleme if I'm going too far...    :D :D :D :D
I will Provel for mercy... :p I'm gonna be in the Brick sh*thouse now... :p :o

Gee, thanks CWR! No more encouraging her, ok??? :p
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Snap}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Is it any better yet? I mean, with all this talk of cheese, you must be feeling happier?

 Err...
Let's not encourage the girls...They're going on a cross country road trip..who knows what excitement they'll cause...I do want to hear about it but i'm not encouraging you..
SNAP (((((((((HUG :) )))))))))))))))) Need to come & visit me for a vacation?
C
i don't want them causing any ruckus either.. think AAA, obeying the speed limit, paying for parking, checking the oil, and keeping windshields clean.
Every 4 hours, stop at a park and run around a bit and then continue...
boring, safe, boring, safe.
I'm hoping lack of vacation is the main problem. It's been almost 2 years since I've had any length of time off; even then I was getting phone calls and emails at home. I really hate this - I can't plan anything because I have no one to cover for me. Frustration is very high - contempt for management is equally high. My work is affected, but I really don't care.
