Lise,
I got the sleeveless race jersey. My shoulders are so broad that sleeveless stuff usually works best!
I can't wait to get my new jersey!!!! (I know, september) Very very cool!
Trac'
I'll bring my collection of AV attire to the Diablo ride on Saturday to try on. That'll be a women's size Med short-sleeve (club cut), a women's size med sleeveless (race cut, since club cut isn't available in sleeveless, alas), size small armwarmers, and a size small (unisex) windvest.
I had purchased the size small (unisex) windvest in a fit of optimism back when I was about 10 pounds lighter than I am now  . It was a bit snug on my hips even back then, but now that I've piled back on the pounds    I've decided it's just too small for me now to even attempt to alter it.
I think it would fit someone with size 8 hips. Not "optimistic" (or delusional) size 8, a real size 8 :D I don't like my clothing too snug, so maybe someone who wears a size 10 would tolerate it, but I sure don't.
So, if anyone is interested, I'd be glad to sell my unisex small windvest, which has never been worn, and I'll order myself a medium. The windvest is absolutely stunning, by the way.
I'd just as soon sell it to someone at the Diablo ride this Saturday, or someone who is going to be at the Little Red Riding Hood ride, so I don't need to deal with postage (altho I could be talked into express-mailing it to someone so they get it prior to LRRH). So first dibs go to anyone at the Diablo ride or is doing LRRH. Please PM me. Cost is whatever the windvests are going for in the current order.
- Jo.
SK - What a cool story...and another vote for wanting to read the 'long version'!
Whomever designed this jersey did a bang up job! I also feel a bit like an interloper here as such a newbie to this forum, but I'm definitely planning on placing an order. If I get a wind vest, I could probably get away with wearing it over my MS team jersey for our ride here in September, right? That said...I really need more sleeveless jerseys. Hmmm....how to decide which items I want/need?! :D
If we order the wrong size, would it be possible to send it back and get another size? (I'd pay for the shipping, of course!)
Sorry, this is a custom order, one time shot. You really need to find a shop stocking Voler or someone who has one or use the sizing chart. Voler is used for a lot of event and race team jerseys.
Post your height, weight, bust size, anything that will help us help you. Someone may be very similar in build and can give you a recommendation. Again, what jerseys fit you well for comparison?
I have a gigantic box of sizing samples (including thermal stuff) coming tomorrow. I will have it with me Saturday to try after the ride, so everyone who can needs to be there!
I must ship back by June 12 but will do my best to have them available locally.
Other sizing ideas are to check with your local clubs, many of whom use Voler jerseys.
SK, what was the style name of the jersey again? The Cinderella jersey for this year is the SQ Pro and it runs very snug, especially if you're at all busty. Is the AV jersey the SQ Pro, as well?
Hey, SK... Wasn't there something about Voler jersey fit that had to do with the fabric they used? I tried your LRRH medium club jersey. It fits me differently than my AV medium club jersey. So if people try on Voler products in a store, they need to know size, cut and fabric. Don't they? Not trying to make things more complicated....
I'd also like to mention that the arm warmers run a little small. They are called "unisex" sizing. I would normally consider myself a unisex small. But I have medium arm warmers, and they are just about right. Unisex small arm warmers would have been too small for me.
Hey folks- I'm going to the Great Western Bike Rally in Paso Robles this weekend. I'll be wearing my AV jersey to as many rides as I can (there are lots!) I'll bet we get some takers!!!:D :D :D :D
AND, this will give other women an incentive to join the TE group. Double dipping here for a good cause!
Not sure what I will be ordering, but you can count on me for something as well. (Probably a long sleeve jersey and maybe a vest) :) :) :) :)
The LRRH jersey was a race with the elastic taken out. It is also made from AriesMicroPlus which stretch more than the SQPro which is used for the AV jersey.Quote:

Thanks for the additional info on the armwarmers. Everything will help everybody.
Nancy, print out the order form and take it with you. Hmm, better check that our web site is on it.Quote:

Editinig this post because I edited the order form.
Sorry, didn't realize. I'll look around for Voler, but the Cannondale large jerseys usually fit me well. Same with Sugoi. Pearl Izumi's are usually too short for my long-ish torso.Quote:

Does anyone know how a Voler jersey compare to Louis Garneau? Particularly for the sleeveless version? I have an LG race sleeveless in a S that fits well...
Thanks!
Edited to add: I'm asking about women's versions. TIA!
SK, can I bring my checkbook to the Diablo ride/poker game?
Hmm, not sure if I should get a small or medium short sleeve jersey. I tend to be on the cusp for sizes. :( I have a med. Sugoi Bella Jersey that is a little loose on me, a med. Pearl Izumi jersey that fits fine on me, and a small fox jersey that fits fine. I guess that's not very helpful. :P
I'm 5'1" , 120 lbs, and 34A. Any suggestions?

oh everything I referred to was women's. :) my torso tends to be too short for men's stuff. :P
Well, let me share that I have the same jersey with a different design. I ordered a medium (no elastic, shaped cut) and I wish I had ordered a large. It fits, but the front is shorter than I would like (probably because of boobage) and it is very tight in the bust. If I didn't wear a smasher-type sports bra, I couldn't wear it. I am a 36 D, and I usually wear an 8 in pants and a 10 in blouses. Medium on t shirts from places like Eddie Bauer and Old Navy.
Hope that's helpful to some of you!
Slinkedog, in other jerseys, do you normally wear a medium? Is the one you're refering to a race or club cut?
The reason I ask is that I usually wear a medium jersey. I was going to order a medium based on SadieKate's size description. But after reading your post, I wonder if I should get a large. If it's tight across the chest area, what's the fit like elsewhere?
AuntieK... first off, I love your tagline!! :)
Let's see... Shebeest jerseys I can wear a medium. That's about the only brand of women's jerseys I have. All the rest are hubby's old racing jerseys.
I think the Voler one I have is the women's club cut. It has no elastic in the hem and is shaped at the waist. It is pretty fitted on me all the way through the jersey, but especially tight in the bust.
I hope that's helpful!
Voler stuff I have and love:
vests: have a mens large (AIDS ride), a womens XL (velo girls)
jerseys: mens large, womens XL (race cut?) womens L (club cut?)
arm skins: both the velogirls and TA are medium. the TA's fit well, the VG's a little tight, don't know why since they are the same size etc, guess my arms bulk up in pink?-heh.
Me:
short chubby gal, 5'1", 150'ish,
Women's sizes - all my stuff is Women's.Quote:

AV men's sleeveless race cut in medium is snug everywhere. I ordered the mens jersey thinking it would be longer in the torso than the womens but the tight waist band is a real downer.
cinderella women's club cut in medium was too small. I traded it for a large and have a lot more room in the bust area.
summary - women's large club cut works best for me
 And she's at least 5' 10".

Both jerseys in this photo are women's club cut mediums. Jo and Veronica can give you fit particulars.
If you are at all concerning that your measurements put you on the line between 2 sizes, you will probably be better off with the next larger size.
I'm 5'6" around 135lbs, 36A (definitely not major boobage) and wear a medium in cannondale. I'm thinking M would work - right? I'm going for the women's club cut - short sleeve and the arm warmers.
LOL, notice how I'm hugging my hips with my hands :D :D :DQuote:

You know, it would be awesome if TE would carry it. Maybe you can do socks, too.
Ssshhh! It takes like 250 pairs for a min order. Now, if everyone wanted to order 2 dozen a piece. Sure. But then, some people would want black and some would want white and some would . . . . snap, where're the martinis??!!Quote:

Medium women's club cut should work fine for you. What's your pants size?Quote:

I also have a medium women's race cut sleeveless, since race cut was all that was available for sleeveless. It has elastic on the bottom and it's cut less generously over the hips. At first I didn't like it because it was a bit snug on my hips, but as I wear it, it rides up a bit and it doesn't bother me, so it's fine. I really don't want to alter it or remove the elastic. In retrospect, I think were I to do it again I would order a large in the race cut (which is precisely what I did for the sleeveless LRRH jersey, I'll find out eventually if that was a good approach).
But bear in mind I do not like snug clothing.
As for arm warmers, I don't have large arms and I went for the unisex small, but I find them uncomforatble. You might want to try mediums.
If they end up being too big for you, you might be able to swap them with someone who has a small pair, since as AG pointed out they do run a bit on the small side.
Thanks jobob - my pants size is an 8. I'm going with the M club short sleeve. Any thoughts on the arm warmers?
edit: you're quick! You beat me to it!
going with M all around. I really want the arm warmers - come ladies - buy up those longsleeve jerseys and arm warmers! Let's get to 25. :D
Snap - do we have a count yet?
