may I suggest Fizik bar tape. Their white tape is much easier to keep white than white cork tape or synthetic white tapes with a sort of soft corky sueded feel.

just got back home!
went on a 25 mile ride with some people. it was GREAT! the weather was wonderful and the bike rode like a dream! haven't been on her since last year. i have ridden outside this year...but it was on my BH Connect. now...i love my BH Connect...but the 595 is such a superior bike! it's just so balanced...descends like a bat out of hell...climbs like a goat...responsive...and even damn comfortable.

Well of course a 1065 gram wheelset is tubular. Anyways. I'm SO glad that you like the KOMs. As another small person I knew you'd want a wheelset that was light but not deep dish. Yeah! :) Plus helping another TE gal is is good for the karma point total.
Have you seen the Arundel Gecko tape? It is IMHO better than Fizik. Even the white cleans GREAT, because its more of an eggshell texture (gets more grippy as you sweat, amazingly) that comes clean w/ 2 minutes of a towel and 409 cleaner. Anyway, just to consider. Fizik was my fav until I discovered the Arundel.

I don't like getting blown around on the Carbones for my "whatever rides."
I also like those tubes, but I only use them on the Carbones (need 80mm valve). For some reason, my BF and I aren't having the best luck with this 60mm tube on our other wheels. Seemed to have a slow leak, but then we inflated the tube off of the bike, and it seems to be doing fine. ...? I think I'm sticking with Bontrager for short valves, because they have served me pretty well so far. I also don't like how the V's aren't threaded. They rattle around a lot, particularly in the carbon fairing on the Carbones.
I have to ask... why not go all the way with white Hudz?
I actually like the little bits of black and red here and there to break up the white. The Mon Chasserals actually have red nipples, which looke really nice in person with the other small bits of red on the bike!Quote:

I've got a few red accents on my Tarmac, and while I hate red on bikes, the wheels go with it pretty well. I think they'll look nice on my blue and white Roubaix, too. A friend of mine had a blue and white BH, and those wheels looked great.
I think the 1850s are slightly better looking (1.2 rims), but, obviously, they are a ton heavier.
As for new wheels, unless you go with tubulars, you probably aren't going to find much that's lighter and better but not deep. Maybe the Reynolds MV32C? Or Williams 38 (heavier).

Nice ride......If you want possibly the best and strongest wheelset to compliment your bike I would get the Edge 25 carbon tubulars. I believe they come in under 1000 grams for the set.

Great lookin ride! Hope you have many happy and safe miles together:cool:. I too considered that DT wheelset. The white looks sexay. But with all my chip and seal routes... plus they just poured the big honking gravel (small pea sized:eek:) on my roads for spring pot hole patching... thought white rims would be toast in no time. Yea... I don't get what's up with all the stickers either:rolleyes:.
