So sorry, CA. Cocoa says he's sorry too.
You are so right, Zen. We do take another on, and we love them like a child and we grieve terribly when they leave us.....but it is worth every minute.
CA, I am soooooooo sorry! Please know my four feline babies are purring their warm thoughts to you and I am sending a {{{{HUG}}}} to you as well. Take care & know we all are thinking of you.
I am so sorry to hear this news! I know well how much it hurts. Tears sprang to my eyes the second I read your post. :(
We are on the eve of bringing our new puppy home, knowing full well that one day we will once again go through the pain you are experiencing now. Yet somehow, it is all worth it, for the joy, laughter, and love our furkids bring us.
I know that you will get through this, as I did when we lost our beloved Pepper (12-18-2006). The sadness is always there in your heart, but your memories of your sweet Cricket will bring you sweet smiles in due time. Knowing you, I know that she had a wonderful life! :o

So sorry CA. Missy Mae puts her head on your leg and leans over for a hug.
So sorry for your loss. We have a 14 year old fur baby and I am dreading the day. Perhaps this poem will be of comfort to you although it makes me cry every time I read it. http://www.petloss.com/poems/maingrp/rainbowb.htm
CA - My heart breaks for you. Cricket was so blessed to have you as her guardian. Take care.
I am so sorry for you loss.
CA, my thoughts are with you.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thank you, everybody. Your messages mean more than you will ever know. We're trying to begin healing - it's a slow process. I'm very thankful for my other furkids - 2 kitties who have not left my side, and a Golden (Teddy) who now hugs every time I stand still. Friday night Garfield slept curled around the back of my head. Animals really are amazing, and I'm sure another will join us when the time is right.
My Grandmother bought us a red rose to plant in his memory. The name of the rose is impatient - she said it reminded her of Cricket. He was always in a hurry to go somewhere - and had no idea he was a small dog:)
Love is always there. You might never get over the loss but in time, the memories bring more smiles than tears.
Cricket's angel will bring her down to visit you---
In the meantime, my beloved golden retriever Agnes will introduce Cricket to St. Peter and Cricket will get a lot of "heavenly" belly rubs and smooches!
Me and my golden retriever kids---Maud, Maeve, and puppy extraordinaire, Fiona--send you and your kids hugs.
I'm so sorry to hear. Hugs to you.

CA............So sorry to hear about Cricket! He'll be waiting at the Bridge for you, ready and eager for a luxurious belly rub and a nice long amble. ;)
CA, I have tears for you in my eyes. They become like part of the family and it hurts so much to lose them. It sounds like he was very loved and had a wonderful life.
We're not far behind you on that same path, I'm afraid, with our 15 year old fur-girl Tuffi. The vet can't tell us what's wrong but fluid is collecting around her lungs on the outside, making breathing difficult. For now a diuretic is helping her get rid of the fluid, but she can't get well.
Please forgive me for going on about my own troubles, I am so sorry for both of us. (Now I have to go cry.)
