Sandra, your brooks looks smashing!
DH's bike looks nice too.

You didn't try to touch it up? I was thinking about taking some white gloss enamel spray paint and spraying it on a paper plate and then lightly brushing it on with a brush. It may look worse.Quote:
My DH solved the problem by wrapping duct tape where the bike & the hitch make contact. No problems since, but that mark bugs me every time I see it.
I did write an email to Saris customer service to let them know about the problem. I think they need to be aware and also I'm scared to use it on a long distance now. You may want to notify them as well.
Sandra,
I didn't mean to imply I was insulted.... just had to get in a vote for the Pilot as most beautiful bike:D. They are both great looking bikes:) And, in the end, riding comfort and performance trumps paint job. I rode a Trek 1000 that that had the flame-looking paint job and I loved the paint, but the bike wasn't nearly as comfortable as the Trek. Plus, my helmet matched the Pilot...
You're lucky to have a DH who understands the need for a good bike. Mine (the same one who is drooling over a $15,000 motorcycle on EBay as we speak) has thrown a few jabs my way about the $$ invested in my bike.
Thanks for the mirror link -- it's in my shopping cart.
Oh, and about the paint -- DH said I would make it look worse if I tried to touch it up. I put clear nail polish on it. I may ask the bike shop for their recommendations.
Happy riding!
Sandra, one of my team members suggested that I wrap a soft cloth around the frame at any point that the rack clamped on. I wrap the cloth between the frame and the cable (on the top tube) so that once it's clamped down the cable wont scratch the frame.
Very good idea Silver, thank you.
You just take the little cap out of the end of the bar. This particular mirror is very adjustable. That's why it works better than the mirror that hubby has. It sort of sticks out to the side.
Let me know if you if you want me to, I'll take a close-up pic of it on my bike.
Have you considered these for scratch protection?

I can't tell exactly where or how you use those. They look interesting though.
I'm at work, but I sure will, as soon as I get home this afternoon.
