Heeeeyyyy, don't be raining on Dave Z's parade here!! ;)
I just hope Tenacious Z gets that knee problem sorted out. Hopefully, Slipstream will let him use his custom-made shoes (with argyle covers, of course).

I will be watching slipstream with much excitement. I heard rumors about George Hincapie going to there too.
As for Discovery, I heard a rumor that Hewlett Packert/Oracle will be the main sponsors next year. We'll see. I can imagine many sponsors pulling out since it costs upward about 10 million to run a team and that is a lot of money to be spending when looking at doping scandals.
They also said they signed a recent winner of the Paris-Roubaix but haven't released the name. Anyone want to bet who it is? Looks like O'Grady and Cancellara have contracts with CSC through 2008. I don't think Boonen would leave a Belgian team.
Here is a quote from Velonews for all you argyle fans:
And yes, the team will return in its argyle kits in 2008 - a design Vaughters takes full responsibility for.
"My sister has a great saying about the argyle kits," Millar said. "‘Fantastic concept, horrific realization.'
Go Argyle!
Freds without meds!
(that would be "Freds" in the positive sense!)
I believe Chris Horner is another one who is going to sign w/Slipstream.
Great slogan! The Argyle Guys will make it cool to be nerdy (though they've got some of the hottest bikes goin') :D
That is a nice bike.
I guess we will have to wait until Sept 1 to find out the truth. That is when the riders can announce a change in contract.
Seems no one is really waiting until Sept 1 to discuss it. From DZ's own mouth: deseretnews.com- Zabriskie leaving CSC for Slipstream Sports squad.
The article also includes an update on DZ seeking treatment for his knee problems. Links to more: Slipstream Sports- In the news.Quote:
Dave Zabriskie rode into the 2007 Tour de France knowing he was a soon-to-be free agent in the world of professional cycling. He also knew his sport was facing a crisis because of repeated scandals over doping and cheating.
The Salt Lake City cyclist appears to have addressed both of those professional concerns by agreeing to a two-year contract with Slipstream Sports. He'll join his new team after the conclusion of the current racing season.
"Some people are trying to tell me it's a step down," Zabriskie, who has returned to Salt Lake City to rehab an injured left knee, told the Deseret Morning News on Tuesday. "But I think it's a step in the right direction."
Next year, I may just become a Chipotle-eatin', argyle-wearin' fool :D (No smart comments, Regina...)
This the first year that I've actually watched part of the Tour, so most of you what you're saying is above my head. But, my ears perked up when I heard Chipotle! I LOVE Chipotle and will definitely support any team with their name on it. :D
Maybe by this time next year, I'll actually be able to follow most Tour conversations.
Ooooh, I'm so excited about this whole thing!
(a team I can support whole-heartedly! Hot doggies! Uh... I mean "hot Chipotle burritos!"):D
