you won't be alone. i'll be here. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i2...consoling1.gif
Awwww...Thanks CWR..:D
Can you meet me on msn for a chit chat kiddo on the weekend?
I like my fancy schmancy new cyclo computer!!! Funky!!!!
It's going to be A BOOOOOTEFUL day here in Perth..!!!!
c
i will definitely hop on there.
here is my awe picture for the day. she still works that sad puppy look well to this day, actually even better, and she's 10 times that size now.
crazy - sorry chica, I'll be on the Sunshine Coast this weekend. :p  :D
Knot - I have a Sharp GX15 that is still going strong after 18 months, getting rained on at least twice (apparently pockets aren't waterproof - who knew? ;)) and a major banana squashing incident.
Thank you for the well wishes. I am medicated, but alas cannot sleep. No one is on MSN to play with and it is fairly quiet here. :(
CC-I will be around tomorrow. :)
i tried to add you BM3. not sure if it worked, but if it did i'm online. :)
Well, I did it. I rode INDOORS
My husband went out IN THE DARK to try out his new Selle Anatomica. I rode
6 miles on the trainer and came back upstairs, and he's still gone. Crazyman.
Now I guess I will get dinner going.
MY new smartwool sweater has NOT arrived. :(
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Well not to CC. Do you have TG at all down there Crazy? I'll be around here this weekend. Reports are done and it's supposed to snow so I won't be able to bike - 39 lousy km in November so far - aaack!! Guess it's time to start riding the exercise bike in the basement...)
Knot - where are you going in Canada? Vancouver? And I loved your question. Emailed it to both daughters. Kind of reminded of Ann Landers favourite - Are you better off with him or without him?
OTG - good luck with the eating this weekend but don't be too hard on yourself if it's a challenge. You can always start over again on Monday. I don't even bother to try at times like that - life is meant to be enjoyed and eating healthfully MOST of the time is still a good thing. 3 hours spinning?! Can't even imagine it.
What is Black Friday anyway?
BM3 - Sorry you're feeling so bad. What's up? Is it your "regular" stuff or something new or a bug?
CWR - CUTE puppy! I am such a sucker for baby animals. I have two big dogs but I'm sure I'd get another if someone brought me a puppy.
They don't do Canada on Zillow. Is it a new site? Maybe we'll be on it eventually...
CC - my step-daughter just got accepted to grad law school in Australia. (She's been teaching English in Taiwan for the past 2 years.) She's going to James Cook University in Cairns. I have no idea where that is - guess I'd better go look on a map.
99% of the folks in the states have the Friday after Thanksgiving off. Most stores will sales and open their doors at 6AM. The parking lots for malls are usually jam packed not good, unless you shop for gifts in-line
(((BMo3))) hope you get better
OTG - Like, I said sometime, you need to have food holiday, Take the long view. Just remind yourself that If you drop it too fast, it's more likely to come back
I actually got of work before the sun went down!
Mimi- so how did it feel clipping in and out? Do you like them? When are you going to try them for real?
Hey KG..Cairns is in Northern Queensland..east coast...It's HOT & HUMID i believe. It's a lonnnnnnnng drive from Brisbane. There's a girl from townsville on the mtn bike section, she's close to Cairns. Let your step daughter know that if she plans on driving in australia, expect the same distances as in Cancuckland...
Nope no thanksgiving..we have " Queens Birthday" holiday...HOwever...The Canadian Club does hold a Canadian thanksgiving here for us canucks every year..:)
AHHHH..beoooooteful day here..except i'm going to cycle into a hot & warm sou west headwind on my way home. NOthing like it i say:rolleyes: ..One day i'll stop & take some photos..
BM-any package? I'm sure the vegemite & tim tams will make you feel better. Are you doing ok? I'll add you to my msn list.
have a good afternoon
c
Thanks CC! I took a look online and see it's about as far away from you as you can get! We're just glad she's ending up in Australia because she had also applied to go to school in South Africa and that sounded a bit scary. Looks like a beautiful area, very touristy. I don't know how she's planning to get around. She has a small motorbike in Tai Pei. She doesn't ride like her dad and I. Kids...
I don't know!
It feels okay, he made them pretty loose :D
I think I want to "play" inside for a while more before I go outside. Besides,
i might DROWN out there!
The left foot works better than the right, so I feel like until I can easily get both feet out, I am not ready for the outside world.
thanks for asking.
I am happy with mine now that I made them super loose. I am not ready for tighter yet.
I can't believe you had a foot of rain! Seattle and Vancouver have had crazy weather in the past couple of weeks. They've had a boil water warning in Vancouver for the past week, a million people who can't drink the tap water. Crazy...
Geez, X, what was that all about?
Dar-
That's awful beyond words. I mean the sound fx w/ the card etc and so on. thems fightin' words. ;)
icky icky icky
CWR- I'm not so sure that's 'action'. I'll refrain from the usual "If men could..." quip and just say... nope, doesn't qualify.
I hadn't downloaded that until just now... now the sound is etched forEVER in my mind. thanks lots... :p
Dar - uh, yeah, what Kit said. PM me if ya wanna talk further. :) :)
mimi - good for you woman! That's how I got started clipless. Made a big difference. Glad I found out about making the tension lighter first on TE. Still can't detach my left very well even with them soft like that. So, I'm a righty when unclipping. Gonna have to get outside to use that new shirt mimi. So when's the big launch?
BMo3 - Thank you for the wonderful talk tonight. Both of them. ;) So relieved you liked the package. hey, your kids are in the chocolate again. Better keep it under lock and key! Of course, I have more anytime you need it. Remember, one dark and one light together. The local way. We'll turn you Dutchy yet.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
Take care TE TD'ers and be safe. T-giving is a free day. Eat all ya want!!
'night
X.
No warm headwind..just a headwind/sidewind...Still ARGHGH>.
Umm kit/cwr/dar..what are you ladies on about???
K..tell me..what are ye favorite movies from the 80's. Second, the 90's.
off to lurk
c
Never fear, canuck, there was plenty of warm headwind in Chch tonight. Made for a lovely ride back down Main North Road at the end of tonight's ride, but I was quite glad to be riding behind two biggish blokes most of the way out ('cept when the b******s made me take my turn :p). We rode too quickly though - there was still plenty of light to mow the lawn by when I got home.
It's so past my bedtime. G'night all. :)
We subscribe to Cylcling WA's e-newsletter. In today's edition, there was an ad for an Administration officer!!! I contacted the gentleman at CWA & have forwarded my details.
I'm not keeping my fingers crossed as i don't have enough "Australian Experience" but hey ya never know.
I'm quietly looking for a new job..very quietly...

Pumpkin pie is in the oven. Cornbread (for the stuffing) is done. Blueberry pie waiting for the oven. Need to do some house cleaning before my sister and BIL arrive. Things are under control. Rain should be starting soon.
Everyone have a good day.
Happy Turkey (or Tofurkey if you prefer) Day Thread Drift! Pumpkin Pies are made, pumpkin mousse to go on top is in progress - then we load up and head to Grandmother's house (though not quite over the river and through the woods).
Glad the nor' easter is gone - we should finally see sun today. Sorry for all of you who are getting ready to get it:cool: Maybe those of us in NC will be able to get a ride in today (after lunch, of course...)
Hi, CC. You asked a while ago if Mr. Salsa and I were going to do Lake Taupo this year. Not THIS year for sure---between all the stuff with my mom, and the house expansion, we won't have time or money for any kind of real vacation. We need to win the lottery, except that we're too cheap to PLAY the lottery...Anyway, Lake Taupo is a future aspiration.
I don't think you'll be all alone on T'giving weekend, or even today! All we do is eat turkey and stuffing like total hogs, and by late tonight we'll be on TE TD bemoaning how hoglike we feel. You can enjoy our oinking later today. Hope the weather in WA is still nice!
Regards to the TD world, girls.
Happy T-day, all!
My sweet niece Maya is on her way over to play with me for a few hours, then J. and C. (his 17 yr old daughter) will pick us up to go to my sister's for dinner.
J, C, and I went to see Wicked last night, then to a late night dinner at The Italian Village, a fun, cool, old Italian restaurant downtown. We had a really nice time. She's a sweet girl, and, while I'm sure we were all nervous (OK, *I* was nervous  ), we had fun. The kid's grown up in the South, and has never had pumpkin pie. I know. Shocking. We'll fix that today.
My scaredy-cat, Ariel, who almost always hides when new people come over, walked right up to C. and accepted petting. She did the same thing the first time J. came over. This is a very good sign, I think! Either they are good people with peaceful, loving energy, or Ariel's gone completely senile. :p
Have a great day, ladies! L.
Happy Thanksgiving To All TDers!
Mimi-congrats on going clipless
CC-job hunting, how fun! New beginings are always good. Keep us updated, I am around all day should you care to chat. :)
Lise- I am just happy for you. :D I am pleased to hear all went well last night. Have a fun filled day today.
I am feeling better and will be around all day.
CA - My great big golden (Agnes) has a very keen sense about whether someone is nice or nasty. On several occasions when we've been out walking, she'll start her "mean dog" growl into her "open a can of WA" bark when we encounter certain strangers. They keep their distance (she's 96lbs and tall/long for a female). Conversely, she will submit to for a free belly rubs with other folks. My two less-intuitive goldens don't seem to have that sense--they just want to be admired and petted.
Happy Turkey Day everybody!!!
Remember, diets are off limits today so enjoy til your heart is content ;)
Am I the only one who does not enjoy Thanksgiving food? :o
I love the day to be with my familya nd share what we are grateful for, but I could easily leave all the food.
I am so glad you are feeling better! Now you can enjoy your day with your family.
I am not GOING clipless. I am tentatively TRYING clipless..
I am confident that I can be clipless on the windtrainer though..
Sheesh. when i think of all the bikes I need to change out the pedals on!!!
(tandem, Bianchi, the Fuji loaner Eden gave me!)
I am not particularly fond of thanksgiving food (but it is what you make it!! )
when we have it at our house, we serve our favorite Italian food as well as or
even sometimes INSTEAD of the Turkey. but I LOVE mashed potatoes...
and dark turkey meat!
I'm not much for a lot of the traditional T-day food; although I do like turkey and pumpkin pie. This year no one really felt like cooking, so we're having Thanksgiving in a box, courtesy of Safeway.
well, off to T'day traffic.
For the last few years T'giving while at Mom's house has been a group effort with my helping out Mom on prep and others bringing dishes to share.
This year we are having dinner with friends of my brothers, so I'm off to hit the happy trail up to Sonoma, CA.
see you later TE TD.
Mimi-Salsa meant WA as in Perth, Western Australia...not Seattle, Washington...
I think we'll have to use WA(aust) to not confuse anyone...
YOu ladies enjoy your turkey...
