I, for one, do NOT hate the "vampires"!!! When a doc or nurse has jabbed me black and blue and we're both sweating from the stress cuz she/he can't find a vein, along comes a "vampire" and gently, smoothly, solves the problem. :pQuote:

My husband is on week three of hopsital stay (for who knows how long) and we both love the phlebotimists (even if I can't spell it) He's a hard stick and we would rather someone that knows what they're doing draw his samples!
I am a secretary at a small state university in Mississippi, (Delta State, home of the FIghting Okra) also a non tradtional student, working on a second degree (Psych). I want to teach somethingm, just as an adjunct- I need to keep my day job! I am also Mom to 2 fluffy pomeranians and these days I spend a lot of time driving back and forth from Cleveland to Jackson to see my husband who was just diagnosed with Leukemia.
First, let me state I'm insane for no sane person would do my job, really! I'm a middle school science teacher. Wait, let me add I teach 7th graders. You know those little ones with raging hormones. The ones that think school is for socializing, who needs an education. I typically get in the way of their socialing (this translates into "you're mean" which means I'm doing my job) thus hindering the development of their networking skills. I must be crazy to think that my discussion of genetics is more important than knowing who just broke up or who was sent to the office for sticking french fries up their nose at lunch. Back to the insane part - I must be for I've been doing this job (and loving every minute of it, well most) for the past 18 years.
Only 24 more days to go until summer vacation (I'm not counting).
Wow!! Someone else does what I do. I'm a biologist too. I restore all kinds of rare Southern CA habitats when another highway, home, school, etc. is built. If an oak tree is wiped out for development, I make sure as many as five more are planted to replace it. I also do rare plant and tree surveys, which means I count plants for a living.
I work for my two feline babies and to indulge my roommate's two dogs. Work also helps support my fiance's undergrad degree in computer engineering. Soon as he graduates, we're getting married and having human babies! We can have kids while he pursues a master's degree right?:rolleyes:
