Wow - when the message said that the forum was down for maintenance it certainly was correct
It is good to mix things up from time to time, and I like the new look!

I'm still in "WHERE IS EVERYTHING? AUGGGH!" mode. Give me two or three days. :D
Also, 90 seconds between posts? I get the spam prevention thing, but given that I type pretty quickly...
I like the look of the forums. Hope it has more features. Maybe admin. can let us know what are new features...I haven't looked around enough yet.
Yes, we've jumped a couple of generations ahead -- from version 3.8 to version 4.2 (skipping 4.0, 4.1). I'm still working out the kinks and am open to suggestions on styling/colorscheme.
As for the 90 second limit, it was 60 seconds, but the spammers have been hammering us hard lately so we are playing with settings to see if we can slow them down.
I am still trying to figure out where the other parts of the forum are - gotta be there somewhere ;) I like the new color scheme! Thanks to the Jim and the administrators for all of the work and effort put into this site, you are all awesome!
Is the drop down menu at the bottom the only way to access the forums other than General Discussion? I am probably looking right at it...going to go and clean my glasses ;)
I like it... but with any change- it's going to take some time to get used to. :)
Yeah ... maybe with more dinner and less beer I'd have found my way back to the threaded view by now, but I can't find it. And when I do find it, I still hate having to change a bookmark to get to the same(-ish) page that my bookmark used to take me to. I get you need to update the software periodically, but a FAQ for chronic users might be helpful, especially if that FAQ is somewhere I could find it...
ĦAy, caramba!
It's good I don't do any hallucinogenic drugs. Otherwise, I thought something bizarre happened to the forum since it took me to "what's new?" instead of forum.
OY VEY!! I'll get over it. :D :D
Hi Oakleaf,
I believe you switch to threaded view by:
click on SETTINGS (upper right-hand corner of page)
then My Settings > My Account > General Settings
then scroll down awhile to "Thread Display Options"
then select "Threaded" from Thread Display Mode.
I don't think you'll need to change your bookmark...
It'll take some getting used to.
Nope, that changed the view of each thread but not what I see when I open the homepage. :(
I access the forum through Tapatalk app on my phone. Now I'm going to have to check it out via the computer.
Ooh, I like the new forum! I like the colors and how it just happens to look a lot like a forum I need to use at work...so no one knows I'm slacking when I'm at TE. Bonus! :p
It will take a bit of getting used to. I always just click on "New Posts" when I get to the forum, and I did find that, so I guess I can figure out the rest of it too. Change is challenging as I get really comfortable with the old way, but I will try to adapt! I do miss the photo at the top of the gal riding.
I like the "what's new" link. I wonder if it will let me bookmark it--bookmarking "new posts" with the previous version didn't work.
I don't use Tapatalk and this one is a little tougher to see on the phone - color scheme is less varied. Guess I'll have to go on and get the app.
Change is good, it also takes a little getting used to. I haven't looked it over much yet but I bet it will be better. Color is good, suggestion would be more contrast or even the addition of another color just for jazziness. :)
I hate this kind of change.
When I clicked on my bookmark, I thought I was on drugs. It took me to some weird part of the forum, like Activity record. But, when I logged in, it brought me back to the threaded view I've always had it set on.
It's just the visual change that is hard for me to get used to. I don't use any of the fancy stuff.
I got the Tapatalk for my I Phone, but, I found it very difficult to use. I just access TE from my bookmarks and it's fine.
On the computer now. Even on a big screen it's hard to see the difference between the blue word bubble and the dark gray word bubble. Other than that, I'm fine with the new stuff :)
One thing I noticed on my iPhone (it's less apparent on the desktop) is that the titles of threads are really small in comparison to the "started by" and time/date information. It makes it hard to read and hard to tap the title rather than the poster's name. If anybody sees my name listed for who has viewed their profile, that's probably why!
"New Posts" is in the upper left, right under "What's New?"
I find the new format harder to read because the type is so small. Just as well, I shouldn't spend so much time on the forum anyways, as I do actually have a Real Life. I'm sure it's more functional, though, and that's a good thing. 90-seconds between posts is completely reasonable. I hate hackers.
I dug through my personal settings, and we have no option to change font size or color scheme? ( on the PC)
In the lower left corner there is a "style" dropdown that I can populate with different styles. Right now there is a default and a mobile style -- mobile users who don't use Tapatalk, you can choose the mobile style for less clutter and bigger fonts. I'll look into finding / building some alternate styles that address some of the concerns being raised (font size, contrast, etc).
I like the new look. It's attractive and easy to use.
I like the new look. Like a lot of people I'm still getting the hang of this and I keep clicking onto the wrong thing but I'll get there. Helps when I've got my glasses on. Thanks for the work that goes into maintaining the forum.
The font is bigger now, thanks.
One suggestion: make the title of the thread larger than the "Started by" info that is below the title.
Question. When I click "new posts" some of them have an orange envelope next to them and some have a blue. Any idea what the different colors are? After I've read it, the envelope is gray.
I like the upgrade (takes a little to get used to), but I am missing an important "feature": the logo at the top used to take us to the store front. As soon as I type "teamestrogen" in my browser, the forum comes up, so I used the logo to get to the store. Congratulations on the successful upgrade!
I think the orange appears once a thread goes beyond one page. Another forum I post on gets a little flame once it gets to a certain number of posts. I think this is similar. One pagers the envelope is blue, more than one, orange.
Except I now see ones that are orange and not multiple pages. So.... never mind. :)
I'm really sorry to be a crankypants, but I'm finding the new user interface hard to read, in both the default and blue styles.
A couple of suggestions influenced by the old forum format: I'd like to have the TE retail website open in a different window when I click on "Shop". I also miss the thumbnail previews of pictures in individual posts.
