Oh ouch! I hope he's getting lots of TLC.
Sounds like your vacation(s) won't come too soon. I can think of no better way to recover than parking in a chair in a nice place and being waited on by a cabana boy (though Thom would prefer a cabana girl)! :p
Except we weren't planning on being waited on. In 5 weeks we're supposed to be biking the Umpqua River Trail. I suspect he may not be healed by then.
But hey, there's always France. :D

Brian grew up on the Umpqua River. I've run on that trail many times. It's really beautiful...take lots o' provisions and if you have time have a meal at the Steamboat Inn. Yum! If Thom can't ride he can hang out at the inn...great library, nice cabins on the river...
