Trek is ok. She said it was a sharp jolt. (she's gone to bed already, so I'm taking the liberty of reporting in for her. )

The epicenter was in Lafayette. It knocked a few things off the shelves here in Concord, and scared the cats :).
Hah ! I thought I felt a shake but it was so quick that I didn't think much of it, and then promptly forgot about it. :o
OMG!! I am so glad it was not just me! PP didn't feel it - she was downstairs getting ready for bed. I was upstairs at the computer composing the "just sick" (per jobob) email.
thanks for validating my perceptions, TE!!!
Didn't feel a thing down in Morgan Hill.
Felt it here in Palo Alto... sitting in my living room watching American Idol with my Mom who is visiting (and had never felt an earthquake). Felt two distinct waves, sort of a sway both time (probably the S and Surface waves coming through). Being that I study geophysics, my first reaction was total excitement  It is only the second earthquake I felt, so I still get pretty excited.... Glad that everyone is OK, and no real damage.
Isn't it amazing how dogs can sense quakes way before we can?
After the Loma Prieta quake, there were aftershocks for serveral days, and the dogs in our neighborhood would start barking & howling well before we could feel them.
Even now, when I hear a lot of dogs suddenly start barking all at once, I reflexively tense up & wonder if we're about to have a quake.

Guess someone DID feel it! :p I didn't. :( Badger, I feel the same way about earthquakes....I get all giddy.

Glad to see everyone is well, kept their arms and legs inside and enjoyed the ride with just:D a few rattles. :)
Happy Friday, all!
It felt like 2 very loud rumbly jolts here, and Simon leapt up to go bark at the door (forgetting that he only has the use of 2.5 legs at the moment). Nothing fell over though.
(Edited to add: Hey! that was my thousandth post! Woo hoo!)
Didn't feel a thing.
