The blender lost its v... well, we made our first margaritas last night! I surfed and found a sort of college-idiot's recipe - a can of frozen limeade concentrate, a third of the can of triple sec, and two thirds of the can of tequila... and I couldn't remember if/how much ice to add to that so I added a bunch. Have to practice exactly how much ice and how much to blend, but it worked like a charm! Except... I forgot the salt!!@! Now, who was supposed to be running after me...???? (One page even explained how triple sec and Grand Marnier and Couintr...? were all orange liquers, and did an important job of sort of mellowing the tequila so that tequila-haters still liked margaritas, and that you should go ahead and get the cheap one... so it was $5 for triple sec instead of $25 for the other.) Pictuers were taken... don't know if I can track 'em down or not.

And where do you get good margarita salt? I still have lots of ingredients left, and there's a "fiddler on teh roof" singalong scheduled for Wednesday...

And where do you get good margarita salt?

I always use kosher salt, it's cheap and has a nice mild flavor.

Of course! It's a little bigger, I like the flavor... and rather fitting for FOTR

Margarita salt is usually near the triple sec and pre-made margarita mix.

I like using kosher salt too.

My recipe (and the ratio's can be chg'd to cups or gallons  )

on a per drink basis however:
1 shot Gran Marnier
2 shots Herra Dura Anejo tequila
3 shots Jose Cuervo green stuff (mixer)
if you want them "frozen" dump a coffee mug of ice in the cruncher.

oh... and turn in your keys. Nobody drives after one of these.

Well, I'm about 2 hours from Chicago :-) Just go down ... hmmm... what's that Interstate? 57 I think ... I'm 40 miles from the Indiana border on I-74 (where I-72 ends). Just find the town and listen for the singing :-)
