I have the red, froggie Look pedals on my road bike. When the temp heats up (in Tucson it's hot as H*** now), they have an annoying squeek. I think it's the plastic against metal because I can actually feel it in my foot and it goes away if I pull up constantly & don't push down.

I'm a little hesitatant to try a lube because I don't want to be unclipping over rough roads. Has anybody else had this problems? My LBS is clueless...or it could be the woman-thang..."Just put the little woman on a padded seat & she can ride the neighborhood with her dog in her basket.." grrrr. I'm even riding a custom bike, C-Chorus components..but I digress and rant...sorry!

This is not a girl thing. It is common when you have rubber/plastics in contacts with metals. I use a shot of silicone spray on the bottom of my shoe and cleat area before each ride. It gets rid of the annoying squeeks and doesn't usually affect the clip release. If you find that you are unclipping too easily then adjust your clip tension.

The nice thing about the silicone spray is that you can readily wipe off the excess spray and it is not harmful to your shoes or the pedals. If you start getting some dirt buildup then just wipe the shoe and/pedals down.

Hope this helps!
