How can I find out what model year my bike is?

I live in Japan and communicating with the locals can sometimes be a challenge. Several months ago I purchased a Trek 7.4 FX from one of the bike shops here. Because of the language barrier I couldn't find out what model year my bike is.

It didn't bother me at first, but now I want to know what model year my bike is. Here's what it looks like:

It kind of looks like the 2013 7.4 FX WSD, but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated

The Trek website would probably be the easiest route. Archived model years are here: http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2011/archive/ but if you're looking for a current year, just go to the general site.
