So...anyone up for a lunch/brunch type thing in the DC area? Maybe in January?

Oooo, that would be good! December has gotten crazy busy already, but January could work for me.

Always up for a social thing.
January should work for me.

Right now my schedule for January is pretty open, except for not being around on Jan 1.
Here are the weekend dates:
Saturday 7
Sunday 8
Saturday 14
Sunday 15
Saturday 21
Sunday 22
Saturday 28
Sunday 29
(Monday 16th is MLK, Jr day, so that's a 3-day weekend if your employer follows the federal schedule.)

Count me in January 15th or beyond (weekends only). I have no holidays after January 2 until Memorial Day ... ugh!

Is anyone interested in the 21/22nd of this month? Or perhaps a day in February?

The only thing on my calendar (so far) for that weekend is "Run 5.5 miles". So..I guess my training program is starting. But...other than that, I'm good.

I could do either 1/21 or 1/22. Do we have any idea where?

If I'm the only non-Maryland person, I'd be happy to meet y'all up there somewhere.
Will there be anyone else from Virginia? Kmehrzad? Anyone?

So does anyone have a favorite restaurant to suggest? Any dietary restrictions we need to keep in mind?

I'm not big on bar food, but will otherwise eat pretty much anything (I know, that doesn't help to narrow down the options ;) ). Do we want to try to maneuver around DC, or someplace just outside of it in MD or VA?

Just got back in town and checked this thread again for the latest news. 21st or 22nd works for me. I'd be coming from VA ... how about Korean BBQ? Cataboo and I ate at a great place in Rockville ... Lighthouse Tofu and BBQ. This is just a suggestion I'm throwing in the mix.

Are we talking perhaps a Sunday brunch?
If it's in the District, I'd vote for Metro accessible, but perhaps on a Sunday, driving and/or parking won't be too heinous.
I have no dietary restrictions or preferences (well, I'd prefer to avoid a liver an brussel sprout special, if I can! ;)). DivingBiker is vegan - if she's still checking the forum (but I can call or email an invite to her and get her input).
Someplace off the Beltway or 270 (Rockville, Tyson's Corner) might be convenient.
Yelp has good sort to find some places.
Either way - we'd need a head count and a reservation for a group soon.
E.T.A. Saturday a.m. is out for me. Just made plans for a 9 a.m. thing in B'more. Sunday, if that's the consensus, should be early (my request) - or at least get me home by 3 p.m. for the Game. And if you have to ask "What game?" - I'll wear my Patriots sweatshirt to the event, just so ya know.... ;)

Sunday morning works for me. The one thing I would vote against is Tyson's Corner. The last few times I've had to drive down there, it's been a mess.
Korean BBQ sounds quite intriguing...

Sunday morning works for me. I hope we can get DivingBiker to join us.

I can't Sunday, precisely for the reason that follows.
The problem you guys will have is that Chinese/Vietnamese new year is Monday the 23rd. If you try to go anywhere Asian on Sunday - it's going to be mobbed.
Korean BBQ - I'd suggest Honey pig, but there's nothing that DB can eat there probably. Lighthouse tofu, she could probably eat the tofu soup - but I have no idea what their soup broth is made with.
If you guys are willing to head out to frederick, I'd suggest this, just 'cause I want to try it:

Well, I need to bail.
I need to head to CT for a family issue. :(
Have fun.

February...?
As for Lunchbox, it appears to be pretty much only sandwiches. I'm waiting for Bryan's diner to open :)

I could reschedule for February.
Weekend dates are:

I think my parents will be in town for the 25-26, but I'm not sure yet. Other than that I think I'm open.

I can't make it the weekend of 4th-5th, having a small surgical procedure. Not quite sure about the other weekends in Feb. as I'm going south sometime to visit my newly born granddaughter.
