I just saw the trailer for this movie - Premium Rush - on Urban Velo:

While I'm all for promoting cycling in the eyes of the masses... I have a bad feeling about this. Just from watching the trailer looks like the main character is pretty much a scofflaw and is careless and reckless while on his bike. I realize if he followed the rules it would be a much less exciting movie, but... all in good fun? I also realize that bike messengers in NYC are supposedly a whole other breed of cyclist.

What say you, ladies?

I concur with your analysis. It reminds me of the James Bond movies with all his escapes in various types of vehicles. Hopefully most people will realize this is Hollywood stuff and "do not try this at home."

Oh wow..I hadn't seen this trailer but it's just like the move Quicksilver with Kevin Bacon.

I think this movie will do both good and bad just like any other movie with something like martial arts, fast and furious..it helps develop a craze but I think it's good exposure for people getting into fixed gear riding. It's pretty dangerous riding brakeless. Heck it's dangerous just cleaning your chain! :x I have been for some time now and yes it's fun (i don't skid) but if a friend wants to ride it I won't let them. Because of that I ordered a front brake for it yesterday. I'll post pics if anyone wants to see :) Oh! and you can watch Quicksilver on Netflix..it's a nice movie.
