I'm interested for my friend's sake. She literally JUST ordered this bike at Performance. She got it on a good sale. I don't think she would be interested unless it is significantly cheaper than what they are charging for the other one due to shipping and having it built etc. I will contact her to see what she would be willing to pay for your bike. :)

Kerry I'm just curious why you are selling Rosie? Is it because you don't like riding on the road with cars or is it you've had some not great rides??? I hope you will get another bike even if you sell Rosie. Just out of curiosity how tall are you. My friend who is interested is about 5'0 but short legged on top of that. She tried this bike in a 48 and could barely get across the top tube.

I have another bike and plan to ride that all over town. Actually, part of my "Sell Rosey" money will go to getting fenders, rack and panniers for the other bike. :)

I've always joked that I am 5'1" on a "tall day." I bought this used so I didn't get a chance to try a 48, but I would guess it wouldn't have fit me, either. I didn't have issues with standover on this bike.

Also, if your friend is interested, I'd even throw in a barely used Brooks B17 Imperial.

I own the 2009 version of this bike, also 44 cm. I am 5'1" and rode it about 6000 miles. I did not have any problem with standover, although I am not super-short legged. The top tube slopes down, which helps. I think it is a great starter road bike - I did not have any mechanical problems with

If your friend has a longer body/reach, then the 44 should fit her. I am more comfortable on my 44 cm Specialized Ruby, which is more compact. I was not comfortable using the brakes in the hoods on this bike, but had no problem in the drops or using the extra set of brakes on top - (I called them the "cheater brakes".

I hope you find a good home for her

Thanks! Also, the Shimano 105 is nice. Hard to find at this price point new or used, from what I was told when I bought this bike. My LBS was skeptical of my "eBay bike purchase" but when he assembled it he told me I got a heck of a deal.

How long is the original stem, and do you know the length of the top tube? Thanks!

Do you know what size the wheels are? It doesn't say if the 44cm comes with 650 or 700's

700s

Right now it has 700x23s on it.

Sorry for the slow response - was visiting family for my birthday and for Easter.

I live in Macomb, Illinois. (west-central IL)

Thanks. I thought maybe if you were closer to Chicago, I'd come out and take a look at the bike. I've had bike fitting issues, especially with my upper body and reach to the handlebars, and I really don't want to buy a bike sight unseen.

This bike probably is too big for me but might work. You are only 100 miles from me. Any chance of meeting in Burlington Iowa where I could take a look? It is about half way between you and me. :)

I tried to pm you but you don' accept private messages. Maybe you could pm me your email or phone.

sorry about that! I think I might have just fixed that.

Would be happy to meet in Burlington. I actually am home tomorrow and have Monday vacation, but can be flexible and do in the evening, too.

How tall are you? I am 5'0"-5'1" - and fits me a-okay (with the smaller stem I swapped in - but will also give buyer original stem for options).

And, I would happily drop the price because I had included shipping in my original post/price.

Hi,

Do you still have the bike? I am interested. I'm 4'10" and I can only hope it will fit me.

How do you mean, $600 including shipping? I live in Texas?

I'll make you an offer once I clarify the shipping.

Thanks for your interest.

Kerry,

I truly wonder if I didn't just buy your bike :)

Was for sale in NW suburbs of Chicago, in great shape. Person said they bought it last year ;)

My first post here, just found this nice place!

Yes indeed it would be funny if it was !

And now I am really wondering -- because the stem is very short, and the seller said it can't go any higher, it's just a fixed stem.

Wonder if I can post pics here somehow. I think I'll email him and ask if he has the original stem. Otherwise where can I get one? He said just to make sure the height of the seat is higher than the handlebars. (I'm really a newb at this as you can tell!)
