View Full Version : Am I computer-illiterate?

Well, the answer to the question may be yes, in general...
I do not recall making any changes to my settings here on the TE forum - but I guess I must have clicked something, maybe inadvertently, that turned off my e-mail notification.
Until last month or so, if someone sent me a message, I would receive an e-mail with the text of the message. Lately, I have not received any e-mail notifications. Then when I did log on to TE, I found that I had several PM's to respond to.
Anyone that could give me some instructions on how to turn on the e-mail notification again? Yes, someday I will learn not to click on links I don't know... ;)
Thanks much!

It's not you. Others have noted the same issues recently. I, personally, have not contacted an administrator, however. They may not know of it.

Okay....
I don't subscribe to threads, so I haven't encountered that issue (although I've read other people are having problems with email notifications) ...
but the default font size got a couple of points smaller a couple of weeks ago. I can hardly read TE in good light with my strongest reading glasses.
If I set a higher minimum in my browser, then a lot of other pages won't format correctly. :( (And I know it's not me, because I can read other pages as well as ever.)
Anyone else having that problem?

I never signed up for thread notifications, but I'm NOT getting pm notifications. It wasn't until I signed in, like TxDoc that I saw I had some pm's.

Or command+, in Macspeak. Thanks, I forgot that. :o
But the formatting of the page didn't change? It's just me?

The page formatting doesn't appear to have changed for me. The only thing I noticed is that when I access the site on my smart phone, the "post reply" box is missing from the bottom of my screen; but it looks the same to me on my computer. I also work from 3 different computers/laptops, so it always looks different to me depending on what system I'm on....

I have also stopped receiving email notification of PMs.
I see in the User CP there is an "edit settings" option that says:
The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message.
____Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages
Thing is, this box is CHECKED, so I should be receiving email notifications. I am not.

My box is checked as well, but I am not receiving the e-mail.
Don't know what subscription to threads is, so I cannot say whether that would work or not...
