how to handle payment on For Sale forum

Other than paypal, how do you handle payment when selling items that have to be shipped? Do you get the money first, then ship, or does everyone use paypal?

It's customary for the buyer to pay, then the seller ships, at least that's how I've always done it on eBay.

The only time that I didn't use paypal...the seller and I just mailed our stuff at the same time. I got my shirt around the time the seller got my money order.

i have mailed a check and when the seller got it she mailed the item to me.
