I almost pulled my calf on the new years day, so I didn't do the winter season here in LA.
No problems, we have a sping series ,too. but it's all one way rides. I merrily asked if I could tag along on the workers ride (and thus have a ride back) no problems.
now, about two weeks before the brevet, I get an email asking me to check the cue sheet and a work assingment - but no ride. This may be a good thing , as I know have mandtory O/t at work until 6/18. given that work + commute consumes about 12 hours - I really couldn't fit the time to do a 200K and a 300K,
Also, I did back out of doing a perm for the RBA as I was having a reaction to some HRT meds - decided that I need to stay close to home that weekend.
I'm debating hanging it up, but I am also thinking about the 200K in Santa Cruz(hey I need a(mini-) vacation. I'm not really interested in the longer distances - I really don't think I can afford a trip to Paris, and even so, I probably would need to spend about three hours a night asleep and have really good luck at the control to do PBP
enough for now. Just needed to get it off my chest:eek::rolleyes:

Are you talking about the Moss Beach 200K on July 24?

I don't think I have anything going on that weekend, and I can be easily talked into it doing it with you.

I'm pretty familiar with that route, I did a good chunk of it yesterday.

(Oh, and I rode the permanent version of that route with Veronica a couple of years ago but DNF'd after 70 miles at Moss Beach. I had a head cold. Yeah, that's it.)

Great! I won't hold you to it, but let me know if you're still in as the date approaches.

This would be my first brevet since 2008. :)

Perhaps I could interest Lee in it too. We're a fairly long drive from Santa Cruz so we'd probably get a hotel room as well.

ooops - I didn't see your post just now. Hmmm, I'll check around and see if I can find anything reasonable. I think there's a hostel in Santa Cruz
