How to test ride?

Hi! I am new the forum and have been learning so much from everyone! I have recently got into to biking but very new! I am in the market for a new bike. I know I need to go test ride and get an idea of what size I will need but not sure how to do this? Do I make an appointment? Do I wear my shorts, etc? Any advice would be great!

Some LBS will make appointment for test rides but most of them you just show up. They will be very helpful with size and trying to stay in your price range. I would wear whatever you are going to be riding in. It will assist you in knowing if it feels right to you and it will assist the sales person to see if the initial fit is good.

Try lots of makes of bikes. One will most likely feel better than another. I had a bit of buyers remorse because I bought the first bike that I sat on. Even though I love my bike I wish that had tried out others.

Most of all HAVE FUN! Cycling has become a passion of mine. It has brought my family together and I cannot imagine cycling not being a part of our lives.
