Fredwina, I am so jealous. ;)
I must figure out a way to get in a few rides this week. After Friday, my husband was 42 miles ahead of me for the year. He's commuting to work tomorrow and then he will be 74 miles ahead. He's got studded snow tires and I don't! Waaaahhh! A little friendly competition is good for a marriage... but not when I am losing!

Ritamarie, steal his bike, steal his bike!! Then he can't commute tomorrow, and you can use his bike to get in some more miles!! ;)

LOL, well I was thinking, he doesn't commute two days is a row, can't I just take the wheels off his bike tomorrow and put them on my Surly Girl? I'm sure she'll take those big fat tires. DH's bike is waaaayy too big for me.

Whether you can ride his bike or not, stealing it would at least prevent him from getting in more miles that you'll have to catch up with!
Steal his bike! Steal his bike!! Then practice looking innocent!! ;)

I enjoyed a very pleasant ride today with fellow TE member Dogmama, on the northeast side of Tucson. It was partly cloudy, with temps in the 50's. I felt like I could have gone much further than 28 miles when I got back.

I'm so jealous of you guys from AZ and California (well, bits of it). It's been cold and snowing/wet here. I don't mind the cold, but it's too wet for me around here with all the hills and the potential for it to freeze. Not that it matters right now--my bike's at the shop and she won't be home until Tuesday or Wednesday. :(

Ditto on being jealous of those of you warm climates. Here in Chicago, it's snowing. It was actually quite beautiful today (sorry, no pics), but I couldn't ride. In fact, haven't ridden outdoors in 2 weeks! If I didn't have to work today, I would have taken the cross bike to the trails and ridden in the snow. Biking indoors on the trainer is already getting old, and it isn't even January yet. I just need to summon the motivation to stay in shape until Spring with the trainer, the gym, and swimming. That's the plan anyway . . . Then I'll finally be able to ride outdoors again!

Well, I did get a ride in this morning, but I cut it short due to not having warm enough gloves:rolleyes:
For those in colder climes - come out in July, August, or September when the average high for the day is over 100 - almost as much fun as snow
