Are you an LSU football fan, by any chance? or LA Lakers?

I have never been laughed at for my shoes not matching -- and my bike is orange and my shoes are soft, baby pink!

Purple and yellow sound way cool. Besides, I think some of those matchy matchy outfits the guys wear are like garanimals.
Oh yes, roadies do think they are into fashion. Why else would there be red and yellow tires?

All I have to say it "ouch!". I like my cute little tank tops and my little sugar shorts. Oh, and my socks that say "sexy" and my socks that have a picture of bad kitty on them. When a guy passes me, I want to be sure he KNOWS I'm a woman!! Are you saying that you trail riders don't want to look hot and take advantage of the results of all that hard pedalling?? :D

people invest way too much energy in either worrying about what they look like on a bike, or *****ing about what others look like. Who gives a rip? Go with what makes you happy.

The icing on the cake was a thread on roadbike review where some woman said that guys wearing tanks tops make her want to vomit. What is the matter with people?

LOL
Funny thread
Somewhere I have an article written by a woman about the take-over of her house with cycling stuff - convos (eg carbo-loading), clothes and parts... and in it she mentions how the best dressed man will disregard all concern about style or matching colours when they don lycra and sponsered/team jerseys so many of us ride for training!
I'll hunt it out... its well worth reading, and applies of course across genders

Who cares about the colour of your pedals as long as you like them
Besides, yellow and purple are complementary colours... like red and green
Yellow and purple can look fabulous together... think pansies!!!

Say 'yaboo-sucks-to-you' and enjoy your new pedals and ride with sunshine under your feet!

Purple and yellow are the colors for one of our local high schols. Can't say I ever heard anyone laugh at them --well not for the color combo any how!

Asphaltgirl, you MUST post a picture of the bike. Include an outrageous outfit that you would really wear with it.

I'm jealous. I still have the spd's that my trek came with and absolutely cannot decide what pedals to switch to. I drool over those yellow candies every time a catalogue comes in the mail.

Biker Fox?!?!????

My eyes! MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, we must see pictures of this purple bike! What kind is it? Although most of my stuff is pink to match my old bike, purple is still the nearest and dearest color for me! Oh - you simply MUST get some of the VIOLET Michelin Pro Race tires! Oh - although yellow would really accent the pedals! So many decisions!

I did not know that Jack Nicolson was into bikes and bike fashion ??? :D
No, that is the first person I thought of when I seen the guy and just laughed....

What a goon....

As far as the purple bike and yellow pedals they will be fine as long as you don't dress in Barney the dinosaur outfit... :D

Asphaltgirl
05-28-2005, 04:27 AM
Okay, no Barney outfit , but how about that purple teletubbie one???

As soon as those Candies are installed, pictures of Barbara and the Purple People Eater will be posted!

(hmm, purple pro racing tires...liking this picture!)

I couldn't get that link to load... had to go to

http://www.tandemhearts.com/bike/

and then loaded each pic on that page... and I quite like the way their jerseys match, but aren't exactly the same...

But the URL for the pics 1, 2 and 3 don't seem to match the URL you gave
Is there another way to view the pix you wanted us to see?

Irulan, I'm laughing so hard I'm waking up the house (5:45am)!!!! I hope this isn't anyone we know!!!

Sure, we care about what we look like but cycling means we throw all the usual rules out the window - visibility is what counts and yellow pedals mean I can see where my feet are supppose to be (I have those candy yellow pedals, too). And, yes, they are the sunshine under my feet"

Snap, I loved the photos!! It's a cycling circus of colors... ;)

Okay, so purple and yellow are good.

I just got a gray and celeste (sea-foam/teal/pale pastel green?) Bianchi. I've been having trouble with my shoes, and I'm thinking of going back to my old shoes. My old PINK shoes. They used to match my bike that had T-Mobile hot pink flames, but what do y'all think about pink and celeste? For the record, my helmets are all pink too, because they matched my old bike...

Asphalt Girl, the club I've been riding with has violet, sunshine yellow and candy red for their colors. VIS-I-BLE !!!! I can always spot them at races and group rides. ;) I think the colors look great. You could come down and ride with them and be the most coordinated rider!

Audio-A, I LOVE the idea of Celeste and pink!!! Kind of a Miami Beach look!

Ladies, we have just got to get together for a group picture! We'll all wear our best color co-ordinated stuff (or not, as the case may be). Pinks/Yellows/Reds/Purples---just a big bunch of MM's!!! Of course, helmets are required (except for Spazz-special dispensation for the cowboy hat), bikes in the background............call Annie Liebowitz, this is definately an idea for Vanity Fair!

No one's mentioned that purple and yellow are complimentary colors. They are opposite colors on the color wheel (artist boyfriend  ). Therefore, purple and yellow are supposed to go together!

Hey Audio A I also ride a a celeste Bianchi. Mine's a 2005 Veloce (steel). It is my first road bike in about 30 years and I am loving it. Mine has the celeste pedals, water bottle and cage, and seat bag. Hubby bought me a new celest Bianchi helmet for Mother's Day, oh, and a matching celeste co2 pump. I had to change the stock seat for something a bit more comfortable (not celeste though!). If I ever get fast enough I should look like a big aqua streak going down the road. Right now I'm trying to remember to unclip when I stop pedaling instead of ending my ride by tipping over in the parking lot. I am wearing some pretty purple bruises these days.
Pink will be lovely with your new Bianchi. I hope you have better luck coming up with a name for your bike than I have. I'm thinking maybe something to do with the sky, but nothing comes to mind yet.

The name of my Bianchi is Bella. Bella Bianchi, because she is Italian, and just so beautiful! She is gray (well, um, carbon...) with Celeste accents, so right now, she only has celeste bar tape. Everything else is black, but I'm thinking about adding some more accents. Especially cages. And a pump. Okay, and clothing. Arghhhh - I gotta go shopping....
