DH and I went out in search of winter bikes. We were looking for something fender friendly, and fixed gear for training. I haven't yet ridden a fixie, but I'd like to. I'm definitely thinking simple & steel.
He finds his bike straight away. Nothing in my size, except a SWEET italian frame that will fit me beautifully and make a fantastic road/race bike. We decide to build it up, and this will replace my Felt z65 - which will become the winter bike. Not a fixie, but we decide to throw fenders on, and call it a day.
This Felt is not fender friendly, particularly the front wheel. But, having zero experience on a fixie, I don't know if I'd like one enough to be my only rain bike option. I'm starting to feel a little frustration with the Felt, and am not certain how well it'll work for the new winter & soggy weather intent.
Do I sell the Felt and find something that Is a winter bike? Do I suck it up & make it work? Do I try & see how it does, and decide later? So many options...
