What bags do you recommend for taking all your bike stuff with you (clothes, helmet/gloves/etc, change of clothes, all that stuff)?

My husband has the Pearl Izumi Tour Bag- which I really like because it has different compartments so things can stay organized. But, I want to see what else is out there that's similar. It could get confusing if we both have the same bag.

Depends on what you mean by "taking with you."

All my bike stuff lives in a cheap mesh backpack. It's great because being mesh, it ventilates, so I can just throw sweaty shoes, helmet, gloves, arm warmers etc. in and they will dry. So when I drive to the start of a ride, which is most of the time, I can just pick up the backpack and know that everything's in there. It has two compartments plus a flat zippered compartment, so I can sort stuff by size and keep it more or less organized.

But if you're talking about something suitable for travel, then you'd need something to protect your helmet. I think I'm just going to throw the backpack into a hardshell suitcase for my trip next week, but I'll still need to separate the helmet from the shoes.

I'm looking for something large enough to take overnight if needed. I do have a case for my helmet so it would be protected.

I just use a big duffle bag that I got as a freebie at an old job.

It has separate zippered compartments at either end, and one of those is mesh, so I keep the shoes in there. There's a separate little pocket to hold a water bottle and I keep a container of chain lube in it. The big compartment in the middle holds the helmet and everything else. I put small things in a separate plastic bag so they don't get lost inside the big compartment.

Ditto. We have two. While you can make due with a lot less, for me the convenience comes from leaving it in my car with confidence that everything I need is organized and accessible.

How does the Bike Cube attach to the bike? Does it go on the back rack?

Love my Bike Cube, too. It is for carrying all your stuff before/after a ride. It doesn't attach to the bike.

Check out Timbuk2 bags. They are very well made, bulletproof, colorful, stylist and come in different sizes and styles. I love mine.

I have two Mountainsmith Bike Cubes: one for biking and one for snowshoeing. A local store is closing them out for $30 and I keep trying to think of a reason to buy ANOTHER one :rolleyes:
