I have been trying to kick the sugar habit for a while, and I had heard about this stuff and thought 'yeah another gimmick'.

It actually tastes pretty good and I had it in my coffee this a.m. I made a big batch of green tea iced tea with it and it dissolves better than honey. Just wondering if anyone else has tried it? I tend to only use sugar in my coffee or tea but it just seems to invite this cycle of eating with it. I have to say with this stuff, it doesn't spike my blood sugar and I don't feel like I have to gobble the fridge! It has a lower glycemic index than sugar so that is why I thought it wouldn't taste good, but it does. And I don't need to use that much either...

I use it on occasion, and have enjoyed it. I have a banana bread recipe that uses a combination of this and honey. Yummy, and I feel better about it than refined sugar.

I like blue agave, but it tastes more like honey than sugar. I didn't like it in my coffee, but then I wouldn't put honey in coffee either. I like it on peanut butter & toast. :)

Stevia is closer to sugar - I can use it in coffee. I think it also has a lower glycemic index than sugar.

I tried stevia but it had a weird after taste. I was surprised at the agave nectar, I didn't think I would like it. The one I got is a lot lighter than the other ones that were on the shelf, I'm wondering if it's just a lighter version and it doesn't have a strong honey taste. But if I cook with it, it does taste like honey

You might try another version of stevia. The first one I tried, I hated. A friend convinced me to try another, and I've loved it.

My agave does have a honey-ish flavor.

What kind do you use now? I tried the one in the green box and some samples that they were handing out a Trader Joes a LONG time ago! The stevia box was last year tho...

This is what I use: Sweet Leaf Clear (http://www.buywisdom.com/prodinfo.asp?number=STV-CLR). Just use a couple of drops. The first one I tried tasted really bitter and metallic. ICK!
