...crossing the roads in Southern Indiana are really really really wooley:eek:

Does this mean it's going to be a really really really cold winter?:(

Farmer's Almanac says we will get an early snow. :) I'm seeing both dark and white wooly worms this year. Hmmmm.....

my family swears by wooly worms. It all hinges on how much black versus brown is on them, not sure exactly what it is- something about if the black band around their middle is wider or narrower- this weekend I heard my mom say they are almost all black, and that means a long winter, or a hard winter. Obviously I don't pay too much attention.

The last two years, the 'wooly bears' here had LOTS of black and very little brown. That's supposed to mean hard winters. But both of the last two winters were very mild here.

Dodged an all-black wooly worm last week--we couldn't remember what that meant. An early snow, doesn't necessarily mean a hard winter around here. We are predicting a mild winter because we had a hard winter last year (also a mild summer). Crossing my fingers....................

I haven't seen any of the little wooly guys yet, but the slugs are sure crossing the trails a bit earlier than usual. I wonder if that means we're going to have a wetter winter than usual.

Kidding -- been here my whole life -- I KNOW it can!
Let's hope not!

I swerved tonight to miss an orange fuzzy guy. First one I've sen this year.
