A local commuter came out of Union Station and couldn't find her bike.
She assumed it was stolen (but it wasn't)

Ahh, the state of the world.

I once assumed a bike was abandoned at a bike rack where I worked. It had been there for 2 weeks, it was in poor shape, I called to have it removed. Turns out it was a regular commuter who parked in the same spot every day. Just *looked* abandoned to me. (never mind the fact that *I* also parked my bike in the same spot every day!!!)

I was a dork.

On a slightly different note, my friend's husband is a physician. He took a job at a new hospital. He drove his 20+ yr old VW Fox(?) to work. One night, he came out to find it gone -- stolen he thought. Turned out the hospital had it towed. He was parked in the Physician's Lot -- no one believed a physician would drive this and towed him! :p

It's disturbing to me that there is a basement full of bikes at the station. :confused:
