Rode to work today, a jolly 50 degrees this morning, with high hopes that today would be warm. then at lunch time i got on my bike and rode downtown to meet up with Raleighdon. We had lunch together at a Thai restaurant and then we rode on to Gasworks park, because it was starting to rain and he wanted to get his raincoat out of the car that we had parked up there. From Gasworks, we rode onto the university where my younger son graduated from the math department (where parking is expensive but bike parking is free)
after that we rode back to our car and drove to Kent for dinner. Total mileage on bike: 22 miles.

Well, after a severe thunderstorm, we drove to some friends house for a ride/cookout. The guys rode while the women ran.

I was pushed hard and did 20.26 @ 19.1 mph with constant rollers.

This is a sustained speed record for me. Plus, the roads were wet from the storm and we had a constant southerly wind at 10mph...with little/no drafting.

I guess there are benefits to riding with a hammerhead...but my lower back was screaming by mile 16.

Oh Yeah! Something you don't want to hear on a ride at 24mph starting a climb:

"Mr. Silver, this is XXXXX calling from the new AT&T on behalf of your daughter...
