False, I dreamed of being a Forest Ranger. But I have been a firefighter - Worked for Rural/Metro Fire Department in Pima and Maricopa Counties, Arizona. And I worked as a medic for the Forest Service in the Saguaro Lake Recreation Area, but that doesn't really qualify in my mind as a stint as a "Forest Ranger".

For Eden -- we loved Castle in the Sky and just bought Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service. We may be complete converts now. We'll keep our eyes open from Princess Mononoke.

OT - but YES! Howl is very good, but it is his last film and he was getting tired of the whole business and very ready to retire. Personally I think Princess Mononoke is his best. The animation is breathtaking and the story line is compelling. It is NOT animation for children - its actually quite graphically violent in places (though I can't recall him ever even going near sex.... though there tends to be a boy/girl interest in all the films, all of the relationships in his films are pretty innocent). I definintely put Mononoke in in my top 10 all time movies.
Other Miyazaki films to check out - Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Naussica - Valley of the Winds, Porco Rosso My Neighbor Totoro (this one is very much a children's film - its quite sweet)

True - the second year we had been riding, we left from home, rode out Hwy 30 to Astoria, down the Oregon Coast to Lincoln City then inland on Hwy 18, cut over to Champoeg Park, through Canby and home. We didn't know what we were doing, him on a mountain bike and me on a hybrid. He pulled a BOB trailer loaded to the gills: canvas 7x7 cabin tent with long poles, 2 prs of blue jeans each, I had sneakers and sandals, each had 2 books, way too many clothes. We didn't weigh our bags, but I think I'm glad we didn't. We met people from England, Germany, Wales and other states, had a great week. Second tour was just a weekend, but we packed smarter this time and pedaling was so much easier :-) But we're going to do the same kind of week long trip (with a group of friends) in September but we have much better gear and knowledge now. Should be fun.

And actually, I am supposed to be packing for a weekend bike tour this weekend. I leave in 3 hours and I'm not ready yet :-0

TPBM has green eyes.

I do! Really its an intermix of blue and brown - the brown is not fully expressed so it appears yellow, and the blue mixes with it to create green. Supposedly it is the most rare color and will likely eventually disappear with all the global gene swapping we do these days. (I was looking this up the other day... I photograph a lot of faces at work and was noticing some people with 2 differently colored eyes - not drastically different, like one blue and one brown which has some well known causes, but one eye a little darker than the other - noticeable, but not drastic. That lead me to some eye genetics sites - fascinating)

Yes it's a manual transmission. But if you don't drive correctly, manual can suck up more gas than an automatic. I have a 6 spd Jeep 4 door and I get better gas mileage than my other Jeep which is smaller and a 5 spd.

LUDICRIS!
TPBM had to wring out her socks after a ride last week and laughed about it!

Not last week, but been there, got strange looks at the 7-11 doing that.

TPBM prefers baked instead of mashed

Not really... just got off work - my 12 hr shift turned into 13...long day, tired and dinner might just be whatever I can snack on :-)

Love to watch baseball, but mainly when the Yankees are playing. Haven't played baseball since jr high, nor softball in many years.

How about a chinchilla? Zephyr has been with me for over 10 years now. She loves to tease the cats and Harper. Her favorite treat - raisins.

TPBM has at least one Eva Cassidy CD in their music collection (what a voice).

Nope. Who? Dare I admit I've never even heard of her?

Cute chinchilla by the way!

Sticking to the music theme....
TPBM likes the Zydeco beat. Extra points for being able to do it.

Sadly, Eva Cassidy lost her battle to bone cancer. Fortunately, she recorded a lot of music before she departed our planet. Check her out if you get a chance.

I do like Zydeco. I just love most music. Not a big fan of rap with the heavy bass but I will even tolerate it.

True--the changing leaves and crisp cool air makes autumn my favorite time of year back home in the Midwest--not much of that going on here in Arizona. Makes me wish I was in Wisconsin.

TPBM likes sushi! (I'm trying to talk myself out of spending the money to get some for dinner tonight :p)

Not at all. I just came in from mulching my new plantings and watering them with water from my newly-constructed rainbarrel. Very satisfying. Tomorrow my appliances arrive, and although they will sit in the living room for a few months, at least I'll be able to plug in the fridge (and admire the stove and dishwasher!)

TPBM got some good news today!

I wish you'd quit looking up my britches leg like that...

But yes... wool socks, trowsers, double-breasted frock coat, and even the kepi is a jeans/wool blend. This image is from Shiloh National Military Park last April, but we wore the same get-up at Gettysburg and Chickamauga this past summer...

TPBM wields a sword, too, and probably knows how to use it...

We won't mention what I had for dinner, or the snack that followed.
BUT.... I'm still craving something to follow my two zucchini nut muffins for breakfast. There are some almonds calling my name... Good thing I'm not at home. Must resist going down to the cafeteria and get a buttery biscuit. Must resist.

TPBM is wearing bright colors today (for work/school) not on the bike. I expect bright colors on the bike. :D

TPBM is already Christmas shopping.
