Yes! Mac all the way for me.

True for at least one film: Howl's Moving Castle. Must check out more.

OT - but YES! Howl is very good, but it is his last film and he was getting tired of the whole business and very ready to retire. Personally I think Princess Mononoke is his best. The animation is breathtaking and the story line is compelling. It is NOT animation for children - its actually quite graphically violent in places (though I can't recall him ever even going near sex.... though there tends to be a boy/girl interest in all the films, all of the relationships in his films are pretty innocent). I definintely put Mononoke in in my top 10 all time movies.
Other Miyazaki films to check out - Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Naussica - Valley of the Winds, Porco Rosso My Neighbor Totoro (this one is very much a children's film - its quite sweet)

TPBM lives on a farm

True! Too much for my waist:rolleyes:

TPBM enjoys knitting....

False!! My mom tried to teach me when I was a kid, and I couldn't sit still long enough to knit 1, pearl 2. She then decided when I was on bedrest (at 24 years of age) that I had become "developmentally ready" to learn to knit (she's a teacher). I couldn't stand to even knit 1, much less pearl 2. Then, at age 27, and again on bedrest, she tried again. I told her to stop trying. I am far too A.D.D. to knit!! :p;)

Not quite true. I didn't have enough imagination, so I shared my big brother's: Isfriendisneak. Isfriendisneak was always the one who left our boots outside where they filled up with rain. Now little sister Trek420, she got all the left-over imagination neither of us had grabbed. She had a whole village full of invisible friends. Hey, Trek: How many of their names do you still remember? (I think I remember 2 or 3) And personalities? And which ones had horses? And the horses' names? We should have written it all down. There was a whole novel in there just begging for a publisher.

One night a few years ago I noticed that the western night sky had a very weird orange glow to it. The next morning I found out that this was a rare Northern Lights effect down at the Washington DC area!

Saw them faintly in Alaska, but saw a spectacular show of them at 30,000 feet flying over Newfoundland to London about six years ago.

TPBM has seen ocean-critter phosphorescence (which I have not, yet).

Lots of times. When you are standing lookout in the middle of the ocean, you need something to look at. Also helped do measurements during studies of diel migrations off the East Coast.

TPBM has turned up their music while riding so they don't start obsessing about that noise their bike just started making.

My house is an official National Wildlife Federation Wildlife Habitat - I feed birds all year.

Oh yeah, and then there are all the bluejays, crows, wild turkeys, Canada geese....

And deer, red foxes, grey foxes, black bears, bunnies, grey squirrels, voles, brown bats, flying squirrels (they live in my attic, by the way!), and on and on and on....
