This week i'm up to 30min on the trainer & have found the songs to keep me there :D (Princes of the UNiverse, Teo Teorriate, Spread your wings, Baker Street and Shooting star)

My knee felt alright but I can't just jump on the trainer & do a ride :(. I have to do all the strengthening exercises which take about 45min-1hr then I can hop on! Oh well. Anywho, the music kept me a movin and the 1/2hr passed too quickly. I attempted to get out of the saddle & pedal but umm my knee's not quite ready for that yet . I can stand out of the saddle however when my right knee's up & flexed I realize how much further I have to get it back to 100% again.

At the end, I practiced clipping in & out on my right. So far, ok.

I'm presently working in low gears but will start to change gears on my next trainer ride.

Any suggestions?

Did 15 miles today. Weather was cold, (for California!) ... mid 50's. I'm loving wearing my husband's "thief mask", mainly because it covers my ears which start hurting from the cold breeze.

Gearing up for 30 on Friday and Saturday. Training for 55 mile Tour de Palm Springs ride next Saturday.

CC... Thats awesome that you are up to half an hour... go for 31 minutes and you can say "the best part of an hour" :p Doesn't that sound cool?

Jiffer, my Jan30 ride was in 30'C+ (from 86'F) heat (and rising - the highest my speedo measured was 33' (about 90'F).

And Fredwina, we have a rail trail in the South Island I am keen to do so your ride sounds cool - but next time no flats, m'ok?

My ride for this day was pretty cool (although it was pretty hot  ). Went with my partner and our 14yr old and we did a steady 48.5kms. Pretty consistent head and cross winds everywhere we went so I was happy to just sit in behind my man and let him set the pace. I was pretty tired from the day before's interval workout, so the hills I had to climb to get home I took fairly slowly.

I don't ride often with my partner (this is only my third ride with him this month - out of 28 rides) so this was a "stand-out" ride for me for January.
