well, I have two more weeks until i start my new job. Yep, i'm giving up the "trade" (for the most part). After a very tough fall 2007, well most of 2007 I had to make the tough decision of giving up Day by Day and moving on.
Part of it is income. It is very difficult to work full time as a trainer/instructor and pay the bills. I have a very understanding husband and I am so grateful that he allowed me to explore this career.
Part of it is health. After my surgery, i lost my drive to train and teach. I just burnt out. I feel the harder I push, the worse I feel.
I am so glad I started my own business as I have never seen myself as an entrepreneur before and I have learned so much as well. I do see myself running some kind of business in the future, we shall see...
as i said I am giving up the trade for the most part, I am going to continue with some clients on a more monthly basis to check up on them (their choice). Many clients will move on, and I am so thankful that our paths have crossed and I was able to help them on their fitness journey.
So what kind of job?? Well, I have been hired as an environmental scientist with an engineering firm. Back to my roots, so to speak. I have a Masters in environmental science. I never worked in my field, and worked in high tech right of school (something i did not like) then went to training. So i am excited that a company believed enough in me to give me a chance. That story itself is pretty cool (another post). I'll be working on environmental site assessment and various other environmental testing (sample collection mainly) type things to start. I'm excited!
So that's the news...i've been around but quiet the last bit...
