Thom got the job offer we had been hoping for at the Federal Reserve. It's a good career move for him, doing some interesting technological stuff. The benefits are great! Since it's a government job we'll have a lot more holidays in common too.

In fact was this one of the things I had wanted for Christmas! :)

Congratulations Thom and Veronica (since it is just as much good news for you too). I was laid off several years ago and being unemployed SUCKS!!!! At least it did for me. My DH was very supportive, but it was a major blow to my already dragging self-esteem....

The fact that he held on through the whole hiring process to the end deserves congratulations alone, from what I understand!!
Our friend applied for a government job and he had to jump through so many hoops to get the job. The feds stopped just short of asking for semen samples and giving up his first-born!
What great news to get right before Christmas!
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!

Woohoo! Congratulations! But what happened to Hornblower?

Veronica

Hornblower was a good, but the benefits weren't great. The job was maybe a little bit of a step backward.

Yep, MP, he'll be working in the city.

Start date is Jan. 7. We hope we can finish the floors before then.

He can take BART (rapid transit) and there is lots of motorcycle parking in the financial district, so he'll probably do a mixture.

is working in central SF a good thing??

C

YES!! I wouldn't want to live in SF, but I really miss working there.

From what I recall, the Reserve is near Sansome Street, close to my old office. (Sigh.)

So what's he actually doing for them?

Veronica
