I bought the neat Polar CS200 computer before I got my new bike and I was in the process of switching it over to Jada. Well, the mount that the computer sits on broke as I tried to twist off the computer. I thought I could just purchase a new mount, but noooooooo. I have to send in the whole shebang.
It's been a month now. My hubby has called every week to check on the status of the computer. The customer service rep hasn't even acknowledged our request for a new mount. No e-mail updates on the computer, no communication whatsoever, nothing.  Meanwhile, I'm winding down for the season and I would like to know at least what my cadence is, much less my heart rate. If I hadn't paid $$$ for the Polar, I would have bought a Garmin by now. I had to find an old computer to at least track my distance and time. :(
Dumb Polar company.

My husband and I have both had bad experiences with the certified Polar service centers. With our HRM, if the battery goes out on the chest strap they won't service it unless you send in both the strap and wrist receiver and it takes them FOREVER!

we broke the mount on one of our polar cs200cad and took it back to DEAR LBS and they replaced it no problem. they just gave us one out of another box and THEY sent in the bad one to polar. no time lost at all. they even set up my polar that i hadnt bought from them, so when it came time to get one for DH i definitely got it from them. is it ok to plug a local bike shop on this forum?

I've owned two. Both quit reading after a few months. New batteries didn't help. I tightened the chest band, bought contact gel, nothing. Contacting Polar was a joke. Nobody responded.
I recently bought a Sigma PC15 through Amazon. I LOVE IT. Easy to use, gives me calorie readings, all the heart rate zone readings AND it actually works! :D I think I paid ~$60, which was cheaper than the Polar I was looking at. You can't accidently erase your information while you're reviewing it - a problem I had with Polar. It gives you lots of opportunities to change your mind.
Oh, and it has a mounting gizmo for your bike handlebars.

We bought both our Polars here. http://www.sarkproducts.com/
We send them back to Sark for service and have had no problems. I love my Polar.

I've had good luck with Polar. I've twice sent back components to them and both times, got a response in a very timely manner. Maybe it varies by the service center? (which admittedly...it shouldn't!).
Oh, and for future reference, do an online search for CS200 mounts and you can buy them from Amazon (and I'm sure other places as well). That totally sucks that they said you had to send it back to them for a new mount!
