Since the tour is on a commercial I thought I would start this!

Went out on the lbs's shop ride. It is supposed to be a no drop ride,to get more women out, but because of the thought of more women, you get a lot of testosterone showing up :-) (it has become a recovery ride for most)

It was an out and back loop of 26 miles. I ended up in the front of the ride on the way out, leading with a couple guys. On the way back everyone turned off to go over a draw bridge and down a rode that ran parallel to the one we were on, but me and 2 other guys didn't realize that they were turning(it wasn't said-bad ride leader!) So the 2 guys and I rode the next 2 miles hard to the next major street (started out sprinting, and ended up riding it like an interval) and we cut over that draw bridge and we ended up just in front of the pack.

Very good ride, felt great to be able to get out there with other people. (I am usually leaving my house at 6:30 to get to the barn to start riding/teaching by 8, but today the barn is packing up to go off for 2 weeks of shows and I am staying back to take care of those who don't go)

It was quite interesting also being one of 3 girls on the ride with 15+ men, I got my ear talked off! (the new guy in my life was on the ride, but he was sitting in the back b/c he raced last night and was using it as a recovery ride)

Hope everyone else has good rides today!

I was supposed to go on a 35 mile ride with Plush Ride (Renee) today. I got up at 5:30 to eat and get dressed to meet her at 7. While rain was predicted for this afternoon, I thought we would be fine. So, at 6:15 as I was going out to put air in my tires, I realized it was raining. Since Renee has to drive for a half hour to get here, I called her and sadly, we cancelled. Of course, the rain lightened up after that, so i went out for a 2 mile walk/run. But, it has been coming down steadily since I got back. We definitely would have been dumped on.
Instead, I just ordered an AV jersey.

I got up early and did some climbing on my Bike Friday, I actually passed a couple of Guys on MTB's , one of whom seemed to umbrage at being passed by a chick on a "clown bike" Went down Milliken and Spruce, and then back home

rode to work today in the rain. well, light drizzle. Unfortunately it looks like going home won't be in a light drizzle. the rain has been building all morning.

I rode to work today, too. It was one of those rides where every traffic light was in my favor. Yay!
Rain is threatening, but I need to ride to the LBS after work to check out the specs for my new Seven. If it's pouring by then...well, I'll be in the shop wet, but hopefully I'll be rescued by a certain curious Knight in Shining Subaru (DH) who may show up to watch the progress on the bike and carry me home!

I actually got OUTSIDE for a before-work, dawn ride. This was the first time, but I'm sure it will not be the last. It's so much better than the trainer stand, even in the heat and humidity.

If you don't want it, then please just push that rain over the mountains would you! It's been nothing but hot, hotter and getting drier and drier in Spokane. bikerHen

amazing. it started to pour! and then came 3pm and it stopped! I only had puddles to deal with on my trip back home.

I went out and played with the unicycle for the first time! I didn't get beyond the "hold onto the fence" stage, but I did actually pedal the thing for a while (I could only let go for about 2 pedal strokes...) Wow - it took less than an hour to wear out my thighs and core.

Now THAT is cool. It's a wonder to me that we have some people who do STP on unicycles.
