I recently inherited an older MTN bike. I don't know a lot about it, make, model, serial number, etc... (someone hand painted the frame orange) I've taken it to my LBS and they are looking it over right now to tell me what all needs to be fixed to make it fit to ride.
However, it has some crazy looking Scott handlebars on it. They're D shaped, curvy, ergonomic looking things. I wish I could get a pic, but my digicam is on the fritz.
I know that handlebars, like saddles are personal preference - but, does anyone use these for MTN biking? Do you like/dislike them? Should I try them out? Toss them? Comments? Tips? Suggestions???
Thanks!

I used to have a bike with them. Actually, I had the ones that were c- shaped, like a bar and intergrated bar end combo. One of the bikes that Regretted getting rid of. I liked them, but you may not.

Strange...we just had a Scott Santa Cruz come into the shop for a tune up and it has some crazy handlebars. It was my first time seeing them. They looked like these...except taped up of course.

I've never tried them so I can't say if they work well or not. I've never seen them on a trail, but they aren't make anymore. I guess it doesn't hurt to give them a try!

Those are the same ones. I'm intrigued by them. They felt nice when I was playing around on the bike (couldn't ride it because there was no chain) so I'll give them a go. Maybe I'll get hooked?
Thanks!
