John Peckham's killer sentenced

Some of you might remember John Peckham's death last fall. He was on a ride in Palo Alto with the Alto Velo team when he was stuck by a drunk driver. The driver was sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Wow! I went to the hearing for the driver that killed the man I was riding with and he was fined $129. :(

I do not wish this man well - I hope he serves all 19 years, and has a miserable time.

Witnesses told police that Bailey opened a beer after the crash and said: "I thought I was going to die, but I got out of the car like a soldier, cracked a beer and downed it.''


This was said after he killed John Peckham.

That is just sickening, 19 years almost too short with a quote like that.
