Amici Veloci Buff Update 12/30/06

Due to the US holidays, my health, the Europeans insisting on even more holidays, huge time zone differences, and then some translation challenges with Spain, we're a bit behind schedule. I figure though that it is better to get it right than get pushy. Good thing is, we've been bumped up the food chain.

So, here are the designs so far. Red is finished and ready to go to press. Black has a few tweaks but veddy, veddy close.

Due to the above challenges, orders through midnight on January 1st. Go ride, watch your parades and bowl games, and then finish up your orders. This will be a one time order with no extras available.

All sounds cool, but I *beg* you, please please please send to Canada using USPS, and not UPS or Fedex! I actually want to receive the buffs I ordered at some point, and those last two guys just can't seem to deliver to Canada!!

Word to the wise, anytime you deal with a custom item where the actual WORK is being down in another country plan 48 hrs for each and every topic interaction.

24 hrs later, Buff calls - OK, let me get this clear, blah-blah-blah.
Another 24 hrs later, Buff calls/emails back - Spain said blah-blah-blah.:rolleyes:

Payment was delayed 4 days because I couldn't get anyone on the phone and even told the answering machine (as usual) that I needed to talk to them ASAP because I was going to be gone for 2 days and could not take any calls nor was I going to give them a credit card number over a cell phone on the off chance we could talk. They, of course, proceeded to call my cell phone during these 2 days multiple times (thank goodness for silent mode). Only time they really put pedal to the metal. OK, rant off. AG listened to most of it already. The Buffs are in production as we speak.

They are so puuuuuurty...hubby says the red one makes me look very fast and that the black one looks a little...bovine.

Lifesgreat and I are planning to package this weekend and I'll ship Monday or Tuesday. International orders will be shipped via the Sierra Nevada AV HQ (Trekhawk).

And be warned: my dogs are shedding like crazy right now, so you could get a little black Lab and yellow Lab hair in your envelope with your order. They're clean dogs, so the shed fur is clean and won't contaminate your Buffs. :p

Ladies, ladies. It's not bovine in a bad way. It's so dominantly black and white it almost looks black-and-white cow pelt like. That's not bad. You can mess with the way it's folded and turned and get more red showing. It's so versatile.

I go back and forth about which one I like better. They are so different from each other.

OH, I hope I'm in the first wave though it still won't get there today so I won't have it for tomorrow, when I DON"T CARE, I'm not driving the car.

I don't know how people do it, this going days and days without a good aerobic hour or two. I'm getting all foggy and tired... and I know this was normal before I started riding all the time, but I just didn't realize it was foggy and tired.
So even though/if the streets are still disgusting, I'm going to put onso many layers that I'll bounce when I fall, leave enough time so I could walk and still arrive on tiem, and BE IN IT.
(Might have to see if they have really warm gloves at the bike shop, though.)

Just got mine yesterday--they were waiting for me when I got home from work. What a nice surprise! I spent the evening trying them on in various ways--DH had been unaware of the buff phenomenon, but I educated him. He spent a lot of time rolling his eyes. So did Cocoa, my choc. lab, who also had to try on the buffs a few times--I don't know that he appreciates them like I do.;)

Mine was tested this morning on the trainer. I'm growing out my layered hair a bit. It's too long for a sweatband and too short for a ponytail. The Buff is the perfect answer. Love it! Thanks to all involved.

I got it last week and have been wearing it during my mtb rides. It's perfect ear coverage, light head coverage, and evens out the helmet-head look afterwards!
