HOORAY!!!

After months of lusting and saving... Look what I bought today!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/light_sabe_r/Slide2-1.jpg

Yes. Here's P!nk, My Gorgeous new Sarah Ulmer Brand (SUB) ZERO.2!!!!!

I've named her after the singer Pink, and the colour of course. But the real reason is because my real name is Madonna and no matter who I meet they always ask if I can sing like the "SINGER" Madonna!!!! GRRRR! Well P!nk can't sing like Pink but she sure as hell can ride!!!

and that makes sense now doesn't it??

Here she is as soon as I got her home meeting her riding partner, (BF's Bianchi) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/light_sabe_r/Slide1-1.jpg

And here's the most expensive pair of shoes I've ever bought!!!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v68/light_sabe_r/Slide4-1.jpg

Full carbon sole Shimano triathlon shoes!!!

All in all P!nk and the shoes set me back AU$1900.

So yeah my Baby is home at last. I can't wait to start tresting out these clipless pedals. O_O Or not... I'm really not looking forward to that but I can't WAIT to take her out tomorrow

fatbottomedgurl, She's an Alluminium alloy frame, Carbon fork and rear, Carbon masked seatpost. The next model up was all carbon though... and DOUBLE the price

Thanks KSH. I aim to have "got" the clipless thing in two weeks for the charity ride which is my last big training session before my Sprint Triathlon. O_O Then I'll have fun riding her

Your bike is beautiful!! I hope you enjoy many happy miles on Pink.

Love that shade of pink. I have two pink Lunas, but they are different shades of bubblegum pink.

I like the matching pink bottle cage. I also like the black accents with the pink.

Well I've been on my first ride. Just around the Murrarie track of the Balmoral cycling club. Clipping in with my right foot is a chore... But my left is a subconcious clip in... I didn't even realise I'd done it until I started pedalling!!!

So We practiced clipping in and out, changing gears and different positions on the handle bars. ^_^

The really uncanny thing was about halfway though our ride, we passed another woman on a SUBZERO.1!!! (the same bike without the carbon chainstay, cept it's blue)

We had a good laugh at each other. Since she'd only gotten her bike that weekend too!

Even though I don't have a computer on her yet... BF tells me our speed got up to 35km per hour... UPHILL. (albeit it was a little hill. he he he) And 40 on the flats.

It was a struggle to get my hybrid to that speed because it was soo heavy. THIS just felt like we were crusing.

All in all I think I'm going to like this transition to road riding. Just gotta keep up the practice so I can ride well at the triathlon in two weeks... EEEEP!

I'm still getting used to it.

The shimano pedals are great! The clip in action occurs when your toe is pointed down (rather than FLAT like the guy told me at the shop) I've clipped in without hassle everytime! (so far)

Clipping out is another matter.

I had my first fall today. No bruises, no aches or pains... No grazes. I unclipped my left foot at the red light and put it down too close to the bike frame so OVER I went (to the right) as I couldn't get the right foot clipped out in time. (Right hand dominant, and since most gutters and we ride on the left over here so I unclip left first)

I've got to wear the breaks in as well. Pink came straight outta the box, got fitted on me (so the brakes and rims aren't ROUGH) Even BF couldn't get her to stop on a hill.

Some work to be done on her tonight let me tell you.

welcome to the "fall over when stopped at lights club" :D glad to hear there was not major damage to you or that beautiful bike!
