The chapter that I rode with did about 300 miles over 4 days, starting in northern New Jersey, passing through Ground Zero and finishing at the National Law Enforcement Memorial in D.C. Other chapters came from southern NJ and Virginia. A very hard core group did a cross-country relay from LA to DC.

I'd say 300 miles over 4 days is fairly "hard core"
Here's an article about my niece, UK Elephant on this board, in training for the AIDS ride. Yikes she's enlisted the athletic department. Now I'll never keep up with her. I'll just have to eat my way to the finish.
