I have a cyclocomputer for my mtb but it doesn't handle the bumps and what nots very well. Does anyone have a brand and type they use that works well and won't pop off my shocks.

I got mine from Bike Nashbar, and it seems to be holding up really well.

I have only used Specialized computers and haven't had any problems. I did upgrade to the Turbo Elite when I got my new bike last year, mainly because I wanted a wireless one. Before that I had the older Speed Zone computer. I haven't had any problems with the sensors moving/coming off or anything. Good luck.

Did you install rubber pads under the tie wraps that hold the transmitter? It helps keeping the thing stable...

I use a Catseye wireless w/HR. No problems. I make sure to tighten the sensor on the spoke occasionally. So far my HR monitor hasn't bounced off my bra!!!

Thanks i will look into the rubber thingy's to secure it better. I thought maybe they made some for mountain bikes alone.

Like anything if you beat the crap out of it it will break. I use a cateye too and after several crashes it is still going strong after 3 years.

    cateye and new tires! yeah!

I just bought a cateye yesterday. Can't wait to see how it works! Hubby installing it along with my new "slicks" (love that term!) Just put the new tires next to the knubbies on the bike (mtn) I can see that I will love them! Sandy

    Cateye Fan

I had a cateye mity 3 for ages on my old bike absolutely no probs. Recently brought a Cateye Wireless. Only thing is I found to get a reading I had to mount it higher on the forks than desired (it's got to be no more than 70mm from console to sensor) so it's not on the handlebars - seattube & rear end reading which is good cos records the k's on the trainer as well!

So brands I would consider: any Cateye, Sigma & maybe VDO.

But certainly see if you can secure your current one better.
